There seems to be alot of people who can't post pictures, or don't know how to, trying to sell items, and asking to e-mail their pictures. I'm writing this to help those people out to sell their items in a more quick and timely fashion.
perhaps this could be a sticky, to help people in this section better their ads.
To start, there is a couple options when trying to post a picture: Use the forums built in feature to do it, or use an outside hosting website to do it, I will go over both.
First Way: Forums Attachment Option.
1. First step is to start your new thread, or make a reply in your current thread, or edit your original post.
2. In the new thread/edit post/new reply page, underneath the text field, and icons is a button " Manage Attachments" Click that.
3. After you click that, a new window will pop up. with a few text fields, and a bunch of " browse " buttons. Click the first browse button.
4. When you click it, another new window will pop up, in this window, navigate to the picture you wish to upload, select it, and click " open ".
5. After clicking Open, you will see the text field now has the path to your picture filled in, you can either continue to add more photos using the other browse buttons, or if your ready to continue go to step 6.
6. If you're ready to upload the picture ( s ) Click on the " upload " button, the window will automatically upload the picture, and add the picture you uploaded to the " Current attachments " part of the Manage Attachments window.
7. if you would like to add more pictures, go back to step 4 - step 6. When you are done, scroll to the bottom of this window, and click " Close this window "
8. You're now back to the new thread/edit post/new reply page, but now your file you attached should be listed under " attach files " area.
9. Finish your posting, and post your new thread or reply, or save your edit, and the picture you uploaded will now be in your post. Congratulations you just posted your picture!
Section Way: Image hosting website
1. Your first step here, is to find an image hosting website. examples:
http://xs.to/
http://www.imagehosting.com/
http://www.photobucket.com/
http://www.imagehost.org/
http://www.imageshack.us/
http://www.tinypic.com/
2. For my guide i will be using the site I usually use http://xs.to/ the general guide will be quite similar for each website listed above, but the general layout might be different, or you might need to make an account before you can upload pictures, but the rest should be quite similar.
3. Now first navigate to your host site, in my case http://xs.to/
4. Click on the " browse " button to get a new window. in this window navigate to the picture you wish to upload, select it, and click " open ".
5. The text field is now filled in with the path to your picture. click the " upload " button.
6. the website will upload your picture, and your page will change.
7. on the new page, scroll down, to see several text boxes with different codes in them, they are labeled as to what each code does.
8. To use these codes, highlight the full code in the text boxes, and copy them, using edit--> copy or the keyboard shortcut control+c
9. Now go back to the rx8club window, and paste in the code using edit--> paste or the keyboard shorcut control+v refer to step 10 for what each individual code does!
**NOTE** paste the code, exactly in your post where you want it to be shown, the picture will appear where the code is pasted EX: if you paste it at the end of your post, the picture will appear at the bottom of your post, or if you paste it before your post, it will appear above your post etc..
10. to post a thumbnail, that when clicked, shows the full picture, like how i did in this thread, use the code " Forum code that displays a thumbnail that links to your full-sized image: "
to post a link, directly to the picture, with no thumbnail use the code " Direct link: "
to post the picture Directly on the page, fully sized, use the code " Direct link: "
But instead of just using the code how you copy/paste it you need to use the image codes, or use the image button on the text field. example
paste the " Direct link: " code here
***NOTE*** the image codes are before the link and after the link.
11. Congratulations you now posted your picture using an image hosting website!
Third Way: Picture already online? No problem!
1. If you want to post a picture here, and already have a picture uploaded to the internet either on another website, or a blog, or whatever it may be, there is an easy way to post that picture here aswel.
2. First off, open the page that has your picture, make sure its the full size picture, not a thumbnail, or a reduced quality picture, other then the original.
3. Now there a few ways to continue on. i will go over both ways.
A. First way is to select, " copy image location " or " copy image url " or similar, whatever may be the option on your browser, this will automatically copy the link to the image, then you just need to paste that into your post using the tags described earlier
B. Second way, is to right click and select " properties " and from there copy and paste the " location " feild, into your post, with the codes described earlier.
