Question Time for new brakes and pads.

Well its time for new brakes for my MT 8.

I'm looking on www.racingbrake.com

Should I get slotted front Rotors? or drilled and slotted front Rotors? the backs will be slotted.

Front slot=$121.92 ea
Front slotted+Drilled=$130.47 ea
Backs are slotted=$105.65 ea

What do you guys think? for $10. bucks more I get the front drilled and slotted?

Some people say that the drilled rotors are more prone to cracking. So if you will be tracking your car, you would be better off with just the slotted. But if you will not be tracking, and it's more for looks then get the drilled + slotted.

Thanks man. Something for me to think about.

try searching RacingBrake

not all drilled rotors are equal, same goes for general theories ...

you'll save a bunch of money just getting the Centric OE-replacement rotors though

It's not common for rotors to warp, but mine did. I know for a fact becuase when they were put on the brake lathe, the cutting tool only scored about half the rotor and didn't touch the other half.

This was after they had been turned once then tacked at Mid-Ohio.

RacingBrake drilled/slotted front and rear will last forever if you use soft pads like hawk ceramics.

slotted are good to have when tracking but drilled tend to crack(like said above) however u must remember if ur at the track and warp the rotors stockers you can machine down to fix if you get the slotted u have to buy anotherset since they can't b machined.....

Yep, don't go drilled.

Since your in Vegas get the rotors cryogenically treated.

That will put the stop to the warping.
