Here is my friend RX8 with painted emblems and lowered with the eibach springs. He said the springs were a madjor pain to put in and he just sanded the emblems and did those with gun metal paint.

Not bad. Kinda surprised he removed the RX-8 emblem though...

he is still painting it, it was a pain to sand. he is going to take the MAZDA off and put the RX8 there, you can cover the holes. so there will be nothing on the right. The rx8 has no holes drilled...all the other ones do.

thanks.

The one thing we both dont like about the EIBACH springs is that it doesnt sit even, as you can see the front still sits taller than the back... and when you take off its real bad. He is going to wait for another kit to come out with a lower front.

I love the gunmetal badges. Are there any tricks to getting them off? Do you just yank on them and they pop off or whats the easiest way?

1badz06 there seems to be zero ground clearance on your z06.

Ya my Z is low, but I just have to be very carefull. For the emblems, here is instructions on what he did...

Took fishing line and got behind the emblem and used a heat guy and worked with them very easy.

Once off he started sanding, probably 30 per badge to make sure there was a ruff texture.

then bought primer and paint and clear coat that was from the same company. Black primer and gun metal paint and clear coat.

Shot them with primer...let dry for about 30 min and then shot them again to make sure he didnt miss anything.

them once all primed up .... and dry. He put a light coat of paint, cause too much will run. then put about 3 to 4 coats about every hour.

And what type of adhesive do you use to put them back on?

I wonder if getting fender strakes painted in the same color would look good?

I wanted him to paint them light silver to match the tail lights..but he loves gun metal. I think he went to wal mart or auto zone and got some...it doesnt take much to hold them on.

The front and back emblem have two posts each. the "Mazda" has two and the "RX-8" has none.

this is jeremy, 1sikrx8, i have the winning blue 8. the easiest way to take the emblems off is to get some fishing line! of course put the line behind the emblem and go back and forth, this will get them started, and don't forget you cant go all the way around becouse of the tabs going into the car. you will need to put some more black foam adhesive back on them.
