Kinda surprised he removed the RX-8 emblem though... 1BADZ06 12-12-2003, 02:02 PM he is still painting it, it was a pain to sand. he is going to take the MAZDA off and put the RX8 there, you can cover the holes. so there will be nothing on the right. The rx8 has no holes drilled...all the other ones do. RotorGeek 12-12-2003, 02:34 PM Is that your Z06. 1BADZ06 12-12-2003, 02:38 PM that would be it ;) my10ae 12-12-2003, 03:16 PM Sweet car 1BADZ06!! 1BADZ06 12-12-2003, 03:25 PM thanks. The one thing we both dont like about the EIBACH springs is that it doesnt sit even, as you can see the front still sits taller than the back... and when you take off its real bad. He is going to wait for another kit to come out with a lower front. success07 12-12-2003, 03:57 PM Nice work on the 8 but that Z06 is off the hook!!! mikeb 12-12-2003, 05:56 PM I have the eibach's on my eight the back looks lower but it is even I love those wheels on your z06 Jag 12-12-2003, 08:45 PM I love the gunmetal badges. Are there any tricks to getting them off? Do you just yank on them and they pop off or whats the easiest way? Omicron 12-12-2003, 09:27 PM Originally posted by Jag I love the gunmetal badges. RX-GR8 12-12-2003, 11:30 PM 1badz06 there seems to be zero ground clearance on your z06. mikeb 12-13-2003, 01:36 AM the zo6 has like 1.2 inch clearance my buddy always bottom's out on my driveway m0j0 12-13-2003, 03:13 AM Originally posted by Omicron Yes, I'd like to know this too... get a hair dryer 2 loosen the glue and then ease it off with dental floss XDEEDUBBX 12-13-2003, 04:35 AM hey mike you ever thought about cutting another coil off your eibachs?? 1BADZ06 12-13-2003, 03:16 PM Ya my Z is low, but I just have to be very carefull. For the emblems, here is instructions on what he did... Took fishing line and got behind the emblem and used a heat guy and worked with them very easy. Once off he started sanding, probably 30 per badge to make sure there was a ruff texture. then bought primer and paint and clear coat that was from the same company. Black primer and gun metal paint and clear coat. Shot them with primer...let dry for about 30 min and then shot them again to make sure he didnt miss anything. them once all primed up .... and dry. He put a light coat of paint, cause too much will run. then put about 3 to 4 coats about every hour. 1BADZ06 12-13-2003, 03:19 PM sorry aboutspelling... heat gun...not guy. Jag 12-13-2003, 03:30 PM And what type of adhesive do you use to put them back on? I wonder if getting fender strakes painted in the same color would look good? 1BADZ06 12-13-2003, 03:37 PM I wanted him to paint them light silver to match the tail lights..but he loves gun metal. I think he went to wal mart or auto zone and got some...it doesnt take much to hold them on. mikeb 12-13-2003, 09:44 PM Originally posted by XDEEDUBBX hey mike you ever thought about cutting another coil off your eibachs?? no , this is really bad to do WTF no turbo 12-13-2003, 10:26 PM Dont the emblems have post on em? brothervoodoo 12-13-2003, 10:29 PM The front and back emblem have two posts each. the "Mazda" has two and the "RX-8" has none. 1SIKRXB 12-14-2003, 05:01 PM this is jeremy, 1sikrx8, i have the winning blue 8. the easiest way to take the emblems off is to get some fishing line! of course put the line behind the emblem and go back and forth, this will get them started, and don't forget you cant go all the way around becouse of the tabs going into the car. you will need to put some more black foam adhesive back on them. 1SIKRXB 12-18-2003, 07:29 PM The blue 8 is for sale now. see sale/wanted thread. jeremy |
