MyRxBad 12-12-2003, 11:11 AM I know Ron Jeremy has a Boomerang II installed in his 8. There are a few other who have done it and recommend it. Do a search for it. sto16 12-12-2003, 11:19 AM Thanks MyRxBad. TownDrunk 12-12-2003, 11:21 AM Originally posted by MyRxBad I know Ron Jeremy has a Boomerang II installed in his 8. That's the funniest post I've ever read here...:p ZoomZoom 12-12-2003, 09:24 PM I've had mine since about September, since then I've had one false alarm... I was driving to work and they call me on my cell phone asking me if I knew where my car was. :p MadJoker 12-12-2003, 11:47 PM Originally posted by TownDrunk You know... ZooM-ZooM_8 12-14-2003, 09:36 PM sorry, i'm just a little curious but what is a boomerang besides the one you throw around? 73JPS 12-15-2003, 03:13 AM Boomerang II is a cellular technology based tracking device installed in your vehicle. The device consists of the transmitter/receiver unit (installed in some location in your vehicle, even you won't know where) and a transponder unit you carry with you (most people hang it on their keychain). If the vehicle is moved without the transponder unit in the car, the transmitter/receiver notifies a (boomerang) monitoring station, and somebody phones you and asks if you know where your car is. If the car is in fact being being stolen, they can track its location by triangulating its position through the cel network. Or something like that, anyway... f1michel 12-15-2003, 10:10 AM I had my boomerang from my previous car installed in my 8 when i bought it, never had any problem. Just out of curiosity Sto, how much is you insurance costing you? i'm 44 and i'm around 1200$ with a high deductible. Evolv 12-15-2003, 01:01 PM |Insurance for my 8 (spring delivery) is $1340/year. Manitoba I'll call and see if there are discounts for boomerang systems installed and if there are, I'll report back. Ron Jeremy is back ...sorry about falling off the face of the earth (life of a P_star i guess). anyways, i had a few false alarms before with my BoomII soley due a low battery in the keyfob piece (could not communicate properly with the transponder mounted in the car) ...i simply changed keyfobs and voila ...everything is working fine! at least i know the unit is working (based on the calls before from Boomerang Call Center).. ...hope that helps MadJoker 12-23-2003, 10:53 PM Originally posted by f1michel I had my boomerang from my previous car installed in my 8 when i bought it, never had any problem.
