View Full Version : Do I need to change oil right after Sea-Foaming? Jonathan11 01-12-2009, 09:27 PM I will be Sea-Foaming my car between tomorrow and Friday i would like to know if it is necessary to change my oil right after or can i run the car with this stuff in it. I plan on putting it through the vacuum line, and some in the gas tank. Any input would be greatly appreciated, Thank You. swoope 01-12-2009, 09:51 PM no. beers :beer: mazdaverx7 01-16-2009, 09:47 AM ^^the man is right..he seems to always have the right answer... but at any rate, the reason is that because teh sea foam is not getting into your oil and into the combustion chamber only, it is not necessary to change your oil. you oil will not be contaminated by the seafoam. I can smell the sea foam in the oil after I do it. One can probably wont hurt, but I have to disagree with swoope on this one from personal experience. Running it through the engine via vacuum line might create a nice smoke show, but doesn't give it much time for softening carbon deposits in the seal grooves. You should change it. and have you seen the oil after the h2o treatment after it has been driven and up to operating temp for a while.. the h2o goes away like the milky stuff on the dipstick.. :) it the best method were to be done would be to seafoam it just before you needed to change the oil.. but that is just me.. beers :beer: |
