clinking sound

Hi, hopefully this is the correct section to post this. I have a 2008 rx8, with barely 6k miles. Recently, I noticed if I enter 2nd, 3rd or 4th gear, I hear this clinking/ringing sound. If I just rev the engine in neutral, I don't hear anything. I dont hear it at 1st, 5th or 6th either. Anyone has any insights on what could be the problem. Thanks.

is it when u PUT it into gear or while you are in gear and driving? This prob will get moved to the tech section however!

if it's real louds and only when u are in the throttle! coasting in gear does it make the same noise? If it's only when in gear and throttle on but not while coasting sounds like the same exact noise i had an dit was the input shaft bearing was shattered and had to get the trans rebuilt

it's not a single clink... it's like a straight clinking sound, like as though something is loose. And it usually happens only when i go above 3.5k RPM, so basically from start, 1st gear nothing, 2nd gear get to 3k+ RPM i hear that sound, change to 3rd, RPM drops, nothing again, throttle to 3k+ RPM and it's back, same for 4th...
No it doesn't happen when I am coasting in gear either... i was guessing something is loose with exhaust or something... i really hope i dont have to rebuild the tranny ><
i am going to have it check out either way, but was hoping I know what could be causing it before i go so i dont get ripped off by some random reasoning they pulled out of thin air... though it's still under warranty...
