Perhaps its just me, but is anyone else tiring of the east coast weather situation? I live in Philadelphia...we had snow, the RX8 gets all the salt crap, and now we have flash floods, with at least 5 inches of flood waters on the road in some areas. What was once a clean, new car, looks like ..well I am lost for words :-) not to mention the engine interior. Once clean now covered in mud spots from water beneath the car splashing upwards.
Sigh...needed to vent...perhaps there are others that feel the same.
..back to work...:-)

I was surprised to find out recently that New Jersey gets more precipitation than Seattle or Portland, Oregon. Well, at least we have higher octane gas (for now).

I put 3 coats of Zaino on the car in November, so I am hoping this will create good enough protection against the dirt on the car at the moment. My rims are almost black on the inside - I remind myself that its just a car, but when you buy a 'new' car, everything does not go by unnoticed.

I put 13 coats of Liquid Glass on my car before the cold weather set in. Hopefully that will protect my car for now.

I feel you pain. However, we had heavy rain last night, so I decided to wash my car in the rain. I just put alittle car wash soap in my bucket, put on my chenelli cotton mit and removed all the salt. Brought her inside to dry her off. I already have one coat of Meguirs #26 (car is a week old) so the salt and grime came off easily.
I know, it may not help in that it's still crappy out, but she was clean the for night.
BTW, I made sure on one was out in the neigborhood (they might think I'm crazy).

I now my neighbors think I'm insane also. I like to rinse off my cars before putting in the garage if it has been driven in the rain. This way the dirt is off before it has a chance to dry on the car, or I may just leave it outside and let the rain do the final rinse. Not sure if I have ever actually washed the car in the rain though, that could indeed be borderline :)

I thought someone said it is not good to put wax on in cold weather? Is this true? Or is it that they don't want to freeze while doing it?? I have no coats of anything and it's too cold for me to put wax on. I wash her often though!
