Spoolin8 01-05-2009, 11:40 AM how big are those outlet tips? Im going to be making a custom exhaust myself in the not so near future and i plan on getting burnt tips and yours look like the perfect size.
endowdly 01-05-2009, 12:16 PM ^ 4 inches i think?
here is my sound clip!

Atilla 01-05-2009, 12:34 PM Sounds pretty good - i imagine that having the supercat also influenced the sound tho...
04RX8man 01-05-2009, 12:55 PM nice!!
dddddidot 01-05-2009, 01:10 PM cool.. how much did you buy it?
Atilla 01-05-2009, 01:15 PM ^link posted above...:suspect:

it did, but not too much. the se catback actually made the supercat a little quiter in the lower rpms... up until about 3.5k rpm. then i can hear the supercat come out in the higher revs. i am almost positive though that the supercat contributes to a lot of the popping you hear.
it's actually a pretty quite system at cruise--almost inaudible, unless you're applying throttle. very much purrs in the lower limits.
fluid motorsports has it for a good price.
lepichichi 01-05-2009, 01:52 PM congrats on the early christmas present!

yeah, that's what i figured - the flagelence that's enhanced by the supercat is excusable though (in regards to sound) - that exhaust still sounds awesome -
I'm pretty much sold on this being my new exhaust.
what i'd like to know is the piping diameters. The tips look good but what is the piping? 2.5? 3?
XxSaMiRxXS 01-05-2009, 02:04 PM that sounds good
are these new? I know I read on Greddy's site that they are discontinuing the SP2?
CyberPitz 01-05-2009, 05:15 PM That's pretty nice...
On a slightly...EVER so slightly related note...when buying exhausts, do you guys buy the cat-backs, or buy it with a header, cat/no cat all the way back?
\\Konig\\ 01-05-2009, 05:21 PM i think people usually buy the catback itself.
then if they want to they buy a midpipe or highflow cat.
and headers arent too popular for rx8s...
endowdly 01-05-2009, 05:49 PM this is a new catback from GReddy as i understand it from the guys at fluidmotorsports and GReddy's website. So i'm glad i'm one of the first to pick it up.
i bought my cold air first, then then supercat. which gave me a lot of problems... all eventually fixed. i only got the catback because my stock muffler was destroyed... but i am now glad to own a se. :)
and i would like headers. i think it would help out more than most people think. come on--headers are always a good thing. doesn't autoexe sell some?

Thought so. Being the Exhaust Master here *:(* I didn't know if you needed to replace the cat with something custom. Well, helps me out if I ever wanted to buy another exhaust. Thanks lover.

:squint:
haha...
chrizknot 01-05-2009, 06:21 PM yea these replaced the sp2. I orig bought the sp2, but it never came due to it not being made, so i went with this. the only diff is the se tips are a litter over 4 inches with the burnt look, and the sp2 is almost 4.5 inches. i have a vid of my car with my buds sti. it starts off by myself then both of us flooring it side by side. the only prob is i dont want my license plate out there cuz we hit some hi speeds, ill try to edit it then post it. its pretty quite until u step on it, then it comes alive.
I am also thinking of getting the fluid test pipe when its available!!
CyberPitz 01-05-2009, 06:25 PM :squint:
haha...
You know that's me in your pictures ;)
\\Konig\\ 01-05-2009, 06:28 PM still confused haha...
Rotary_Power 01-05-2009, 07:27 PM It definitely goes on my "to buy" list!!!
