Owning an RX-8 is like owning (?) a cat! They force you to modify your behaviour to suit their own needs! We all know humans don't own cats - cats own humans!

Thats whay I luv em (cats) and my RX-8! We have to modify the way we operate a car and our driving style to meet the needs of the car not ourselves!

I see what you mean about the 8 being like a cat...it even has a feline appearance...

Man my neighbor's cat always walks on my F'in hood after I wash/wax my car!!!!!!!! They are friends of mine, so I don't gripe to them. I can always go out there and see cat tracks that start from the rear of my car, go up the back windshield, over the top of the car, down the front windshield, and then onto the hood. STUPID CAT why does it do that EVERY TIME?? Does it have to explore my car EVERY TIME? grr.

If they rub on it with the side of their face it marks you or it as theirs! So you are cleaning their car so they have a cozy place to nap on..

There IS something about this car and cats. If I park it on my driveway, the 6 neighborhood cats come running. Don't get me wrong, I like cats just fine but it is creepy, like something from an Alfred Hitchcock movie. I now have to park in the garage and close the door or clean paw prints off every time. I'm not going nuts - my neighbors have noticed this behavior too. They don't seem to be attracted to other cars. Weird! At least it isn’t elephants!

P.S. Thanks Matt! LOL. Now I have to get that Free Cat picture you posted out of my head.

I've also noticed an unusually high attraction of neighborhood cats to my 8. I think it has to do with the relatively flat hood area, and the amount of warmth put off by the engine. Combined, that makes for a nice cozy napping spot on a chilly day. I found definite evidence of a cat napping spot at the base of my windshield one day... with nice muddy little prints leading right up to it. You can imagine how well they show up on a black 8. ;)

I'd agree with you- I don't really find dead animals of any type amusing. But each to his own, I suppose.
