I've been a fan of Ansa exhausts - great finish and sound. They don't have an 8 yet - anyone else interested.

I've never heard of them

They are OE on Ferrari, Lambo and Alfa, But also have an aftermarket line. They have a distinctive "Euro" sound (anti - rice)

I had a ansa on the 308 and on the 360.

BEST EXHAUST EVER, but they only sound good on V-8's or above. Not sure how they would sound on a rotary.

damm, how old are u? i was a ricer my self in my middle school days, after that i grew out of it, and its time for u to let go of the rice too

You guys have to let go of this rice thing...most of you clearly don't even know what the term was coined to mean. Putting a TURBO sticker on an econobox is rice. Putting a giant shop class wing on a POS that can't get out of its own way is rice. Putting a huge muffler tip on the back of a stock exhaust is rice. However...just because a 4cyl engine through an open exhaust...or for that matter a rotary...happens to sound buzzy is NOT rice. A functional, if somewhat obnoxious-looking wing like the RE Amemiya may not be your thing...but its not rice, not on a car with any reasonable aspirations of high-speed track driving. It also does not mean "anything Japanese that I don't drive." If you want to use it to refer to all Japanese vehicles, be my guest, but if that's the case may I suggest http://www.z28.com as a possible alternative to this forum.

I never realized that an Ansa exhaust could be so controversial. I was merely looking for opinions and likelihood of them making an exhaust for the 8. Enough said.

I'm in! I got the same email we'll see what happens.

I don't think you're going to slap on an exhaust and its going to suddenly sound "euro," whatever that means. The engine type has a lot to do with the sound too.

I've been a fan of Ansa for years. They have a top quality product which is OE on high end cars. As far as sound I agree with bureau, it depends alot on the engine. I think the rotary would complement the typical ansa sound. We'll see.

piston size and displacement (huge impact), head shape, header tune, port sizes, rpm, etc etc etc.

mufflers can change a sound a lot, but they can only change what's coming into them.

the wankel engine in naked race form has a very very lopy and blatty idle, with a banshee full-power scream: few engines compete volume-wise with an open-ended rotary.
