Always liked the Ti Gray. Thought of two woning mine black with Ti Gray or something close. Something subtle.

Running the dragon is FREE! We are not charging for that... and I'm sure some will only run once or not run at all (some show cars and race cars).

Registration fee includes: Event T-shirt, Lunch, registration for a car show, and qualify for $1500-3000 worth of giveaways. Your chance of getting some sort of giveaway is very likely.. usually 1 in 3 gets something.. We are also planning seminars from various vendors and such. So, Please register vs. just showing up.

I suggest you just stop posting before you keeping making yourself look bad. As stated above, its for a good cause. You might not see it, but don't go around saying we forcing people to pay to support something we all love. but im done posting. Its not the place to argue.

here, i'll even contribute some to our little community: i can take two people in at my house, for free. i live 30 minutes away in knoxville and i have a nice, comfy couch and plenty of floor space.

I totally understand what you want to do. Not against it, it IS your money and you can do whatever you want. Just saying don't come to this thread and start saying stuff like that. All the cabins on the lodge side of the street are booked and the ones higher up than the 90, 105,110 are are gravel road and mountainous.

i bought my 8 the day after DGRR. i came up there in a black prelude that day and hung out with some of my FB friends, wandered around, and then bought an 8 the very next day.

Just remember, event like this takes time and $37, as some thinks its a great deal of money, is a form of support. Don't be contradicting when you clearly mentions "DGRR" in your previous posts and then antagonize by saying you are not going to pay money because the road is FREE. You are completely missing the point of what this event is all about...

Bottomline, There are reasons... And to break it down to you, its not because they show up to the event without registering, its your attitude about it all. I have no issues with people coming to the event to check different cars and such. Obviously day before you bought your car, you didn't pay. I do hope they realize what kind of time and effort was put in and hope they would support vs. just showing up, but that's life. Just think about it, if it wasn't for the organizers of DGRR, there wouldn't be such event in your area. You might think its just a car show for 2 hours, but its actually meeting top rotary vendors and hanging out with enthusiasts for 2-3 days and talking about cars and driving together on various roads surrounding US129. That's what's its all about.. If DGRR is to make money, it would of been held at a huge parking lot and invite all the ricers who's willing to pay $20 to just park their car for half a day.

you guys that are going make sure to follow the speed limit closely down by the lake before you actually start up toward the "fun" part. there's been a lot more enforcement down there than on the actual dragon as of late, partly because it's easier to enforce there.

it's really easy to let your speed get away from you without noticing, which is why i say this. lots of straights and good scenery to distract you.

if i can get away today, i'll probably show up for a few minutes if anyone wants to meet me, kick my ass, or otherwise.

^Yeah, a line of 5 RX8's got followed back to the village last year at BOTD and all were given tickets.

i think i should also add that semi trucks coming down through there are an almost daily occurrence now. i've escorted three through there myself just this year, but normally the guys on bikes do a great job of warning everyone and escorting.

this weekend is supposed to be much nicer than last weekend, and last weekend there were a fair amount of people up there crowding the pulloff.

Shit we leave in 11 hrs.. Now have to turn my car back to stock form or get this turbo fixed. prob stock lol
