Wow carzoomer! That rim looks really really nice. May I know what painting method did you use on your rims. They looks almost like anodized!

cheers

Stripped of the old powdercoat, polished, then new transparent epoxy powder coat that has a transparent colour.

See my thread at:

Thanks Mike.

They were inexpensive, and work well for me.
Cost was $130 Canadian per wheel ( about $99 US)

The Nokian tires grip really well on ice.

Cheers mate, now I'll have to check out if we've catch-up with this new epoxy powder coating technic.

Here is my winter wheel/tire combo. The wheel is the Mille Miglia HT3 (17"), carbon grey. The tire is the LM22 Blizzack from Bridgestone. I also got the TPM sensors.:D

You can attach a picture file to a posting here.
When you are posting a message look a couple of sections lower than the field you type in for "Attach file:"

I am sure that you are really looking for stock size or larger performance wheels, but I will follow the trend . . . here is the 8 with the winters, being Toyo Garits on 17" ADR GT-Sports:

Wheel Specs:

Make: ADR M-Sports
Size: 19" Stagerd 8.5 in the front & 9.5 in the back
Tire: 245/35/19 in the front & 275/30/19 in the back

It rides great.........

A ignorance question for RX8on19s:
Why did you run /30/ in the back? Is it because 275/ doesn't come with /35/ (which is similar to your front)? Does this means your rear is seating slightly lower than the front.

Cheers

No idea.
I would not do it. Here is why:
Chrome adds heavy metal. Adds about 2 lbs per wheel.
Chrome can not be fixed or refinished if damaged

In some cases, perhaps.

I know on a big-ass 4x4 pickup it can look pretty cool on those 20" rims and knobby tires.

On an RX-8 it is a matter of personal taste.

I just do not like chrome on something that is easily scraped up or nicked. Once the chrome is blemished you are basically out of options.

Besides, on an 8 about the only bright chrome items are the badges, so it kind of looks out of place, at least to my eye.

But what do i know?
Aesthetics is in the eye of the beholder.

Positron,

Why would you put 17" rims if the car already comes with 18"?

He got an AT, so, he's probably already up 1 size.

Yup, I've got an AT with the GT package so it came with 18 inch wheels. I put the 17 inch rims on because I could only find 17 inch snows by mid-December. Also, slightly narrower snow tires do a bit better than 18s and I decided I would rather not be switching tires on and off the 18 inch stock rims twice a year. Most of the trades between 17 and 18 inch snows have been discussed extensively in this forum.

Winter tires. Narrower is better for winter performance (snow/ice); 17s are lighter and cheaper than 18s, for both the wheels and tires.

Better performance, less expensive.

Gordon

RX8on19s, how much does each rim weigh. I don't want to sacriface dead weight for looks but like I said those things look awesome.
