This sucks. I think the new car was actually performing pretty well when it took over mid-season. Hopefully they'll be back.

HOly, this is getting crazy. man this hurts, since i am a subaru fanboy :(
i now wished i followed WRC more these past 2 years. guess i never thought teams would be dropping out in each racing series that i like. but i cant blame them, things arent going well any more for no one it seems.

Next thing you know they will be canceling races.
I just received my Sebring news letter , and for next year's 12 hour race, the cost of tickets are 90 bucks a pop! I guess the reps of the ALMS do not believe were in a recession.
The 24 Rolex next month in Daytona is still 40 bucks, thank GOD!

Ford and Peugoet are the only ones left. I have a feeling it won't be long until they leave as well.

its ford and citroen bro. peugoet has been out of it for years.
too bad, but its not like it matters that much for subaru really. they havent won anything since 2005. thats pretty lame concidering their underserved reputation as rally champs. yes they were great back in the day but they just arent doing well anymore and they cant ride on their previous victories forever. dont get me wrong, im a subaru fanboy as well. my plan was always to trade in my lancer ralliart on a WRX when i found the right one...but this RX8 just came along at the right time.
kinda sux that there are only two companies battling it out now with suzuki dropping out as well.

It makes sense like Honda leaving F1, might as well focus on the company since the economy is in the crapper, and they haven't been winning much anyway.

The one things that is supposed to happen when a company competes in a motor sport is we get to benefit from some trickle down technology. Just a sign of the times, everyone is tightening their belts.

Good bye 555. Subaru and WRC is what Mclaren is to F1. This is sad. Perhaps they will still support grassroots local rallies. It got me hoocked into rallies and even participated in a few winter TSD events too.
I salute thee 555

Had high hopes on this new Impreza, too bad your life was shortened. Note the suicidal photog.

Yeah this was sorta like a kick in the balls once it was confirmed by FHI. I got into WRC back in the late 90's and it was all about Mitsubishi, Subaru, Toyota and Ford. Then Peugeot, Skoda and even Hyundai threw their hat in the ring. I own a Mitsubishi and a Subaru and don't believe for a second they have an intent of ever returning to WRC. Has a manufacturer EVER left and LATER returned?
