I have a 05 8 and i got a check engine light took it to autozone and they said a miss fire i am taking it to the dealer in a few days but i wanted a normal persons point of view on this

Lately when i rev it up to red i feel it bog down at different rpms today i hit 7k and it lost a bit of power other times its at 5k or anywhere really but once i floor its certain it bogs real quick any thoughts????? and the power comes back its just like a small loss and come back but its not perfect and smooth like it should be

like i said mazda will play with it but i want to know if its a big problem or just like the coils or something which is what im assuming since my check engine light when on a few days ago

i would assume coils/spark plugs first.

That's your ports opening up at the RPM ranges.

Read the stickies in the tech section please.

Also, misfires are common. If the light doesn't stay on you are fine.

Please give us all the history on your car. Miles, service done, parts changed, ever flooded, how was it driven, anything that you can give us. If you bring it in to the dealer and they want to change spark plugs, coils, wires for five or six hundred and you can do it in an hour for about two hundred and fifty dollars are you going to do it?
