lamo fail...
cold engie = cold oil, cold oil = poor lubrication, you do the math
Ross_Dawg 12-08-2008, 02:58 PM sounds good man... nice work

ah i thought you were referring to the sound. and yeah but dont act like you've never done it.
and thanks, i like the way it sounds, it's deeper in person so it doesn't sound ricey at all.
alz0rz 12-08-2008, 05:41 PM uh, why would anyone do something that will knowingly harm the engine?
poweredbyplaav 12-08-2008, 08:55 PM seems like the biggest difference with this, opposed to the sp2 is its appearance. It sounded quite similar to the sp2. Any power difference?
mysql 12-08-2008, 09:00 PM ah i thought you were referring to the sound. and yeah but dont act like you've never done it.
I haven't. I want my car to not sustain engine damage.
getdamafiaonyou 12-08-2008, 09:03 PM ok can we stop saying im going to blow up my engine? it's not like i red lined it constantly after a cold start, i did it once. it's not something i do regularly.
and as for power difference i doubt it, exhaust only does like 3 hp.
tubingchamp 12-08-2008, 09:04 PM Yeah, but you should never push it to redline when cold. Never push it above 4000RPM when cold.
Sounds good, though.
mysql 12-08-2008, 09:10 PM ok can we stop saying im going to blow up my engine? it's not like i red lined it constantly after a cold start, i did it once. it's not something i do regularly.

the metals inside the engine expand at different rates. The engine is heated up on one side where the spark plugs are. You do not want it spinning that fast before everything has warmed up and expanded properly.
People who do this kind of crap end up with the engine leaking coolant and needing a rebuild.
It sounds like you don't think it's a big deal because your engine hasn't yet died.
getdamafiaonyou 12-08-2008, 09:20 PM i also dont think it's a big deal because i don't do it. i just decided to make the video, and wasn't thinking. hadn't driven the car yet today, and decided to make the video. so it doesn't worry me since im pretty sure this was the first time i've ever revved that high while the engine is cold.
getdamafiaonyou 12-08-2008, 09:21 PM and it just hit me that most of you prob think it's really cold, it was about 50-60 degrees outside, and i keep her in the garage, which is at least 60, so it wasn't freezing or anything.
mysql 12-08-2008, 09:27 PM i also dont think it's a big deal because i don't do it.
Photoshop FTW!
mikeschaefer 12-09-2008, 12:34 AM Uh by the time he redlines it the temp needle is a few clicks above C, which is where my gauge usually sits when warmed up. Even earlier in the vid when he goes above 4000 you can tell there is not much loading on the engine.
Back to the topic at hand, I like the way that exhaust looks and sounds. I think you made a good choice.
I don't think it sounds anything like the SP2 I had. My SP2 was much more mellow.
IMO, the SE's tips are much better than the SP2's, although they're still just a bit too big for my tastes.
thebiggdaddy 12-09-2008, 12:35 AM Is this the greddy evo TT exhaust?
Fortunate Few 12-09-2008, 12:54 AM hahaha super cold. nice exhaust though!
YaXMaNGTO 12-09-2008, 01:08 AM i also dont think it's a big deal because i don't do it. i just decided to make the video, and wasn't thinking. hadn't driven the car yet today, and decided to make the video. so it doesn't worry me since im pretty sure this was the first time i've ever revved that high while the engine is cold.
Fail. Redline your engine cold and make a video... and then post it.
Seriously. What were you thinking...
mikeschaefer 12-09-2008, 01:14 AM Is this the greddy evo TT exhaust?
It's the Greddy SE.
sounds like my sp2. I want an HKS more than ever now.
mikeschaefer 12-09-2008, 01:23 AM sounds like my sp2. I want an HKS more than ever now.
Sounds like your car with an sp2 and a high flow cat? His cat is stock.
success07 12-09-2008, 09:09 AM Anymore shots of the exhaust?
I thought this looked interesting so I'm glad someone finally got it.
getdamafiaonyou 12-09-2008, 10:12 AM yeah i'll get some more in a few hours, and anyone know the best way to clean the tips? can i use the same stuff that ppl use with colorless tips?
Ross_Dawg 12-09-2008, 02:27 PM Borla has a new cleaner/polisher... go check out the Show&Shine section

Pretty much, mine is probably louder but my cat has no lives left.
