View Full Version : If your engine blew from running FI. Rotard 12-06-2008, 07:35 PM Could you, in theory, take the aftermarket parts out and replace them with stock? Avoiding a voided warranty? :scratchhe CyberPitz 12-06-2008, 07:37 PM If you clean everything up nicely, you could try....but something tells me if you blue it due to FI, then they will see that something was jacked up and somebody failed at life when trying to set up/tune their car for it. Rotard 12-06-2008, 07:47 PM I just want 200whp IS THAT IMPOSSIBLE TO OBTAIN WITH THIS VEHICLE? Rotard 12-06-2008, 08:47 PM another question.. would motor mounts be recommended? I was told that by stabilizing the engine better you prevent some parasitic loss. But then I hear that since its a rotory you dont really need to worry about it moving.. 04RX8man 12-06-2008, 08:49 PM yeah in theory u could do it but who knows if it will really work....yes that is very possible to do.....just have to do it right.....without goin FI you prob need to run the Cobb AP to help, nitrous there are quite a few things you could do but with FI you can easitly push it well over 300 whp mysql 12-06-2008, 08:58 PM another question.. would motor mounts be recommended? I was told that by stabilizing the engine better you prevent some parasitic loss. But then I hear that since its a rotory you dont really need to worry about it moving.. if your current mounts allow your engine to spin around, then an upgrade might be in order. My car runs fine with OEM mounts. kersh4w 12-06-2008, 09:19 PM 200whp is pretty easy to do n/a. no need to go FI get an 3" exhaust get a 3" cat replacement straight pipe get the cobb accessport get a good intake (mazdaspeed, aem, racing beat+duct) PSTNLSS 12-06-2008, 09:53 PM That would be a lot to work, to undo a forced induction. nycgps 12-06-2008, 09:58 PM Its possible, the problem is, will the dealership honor the warranty ? Cuz some dealerships just dont wanna honor any "big" warranty like engine for some reason. probably too much paper work and not worth the time. Ross_Dawg 12-06-2008, 10:01 PM I just want 200whp IS THAT IMPOSSIBLE TO OBTAIN WITH THIS VEHICLE? nope... not possible. Nobody's ever achieved 200whp with this car, we like low numbers :uhh: toneskii707 12-06-2008, 10:24 PM Just get some nitrous huff it then go drive you'll feel like you got 300hp. Jk don't try that! Gish 12-07-2008, 07:28 AM lolwut? u guyz no that mazda gave teh car 236 horsepowers from the factory, right? lol! you want to have less horsepowers! 04RX8man 12-07-2008, 09:22 AM actually the number that mazda puts out is at the flywheel not the wheels he was asking for whp but yeah it's very easy.... sort of thread hijack but does anyone know about how much hp/tq a catless midpipe gains??? MazdaManiac 12-07-2008, 10:52 AM Could you, in theory, take the aftermarket parts out and replace them with stock? Avoiding a voided warranty? :scratchhe The first ting I'd do, in theory, is post a thread on a public Internet forum asking about the plausibility of my plan for attempting to commit an act of fraud. :eyetwitch mysql 12-07-2008, 10:56 AM I'm sure no one from mazda would ever read these boards PSTNLSS 12-07-2008, 11:02 AM Well, the question is will you be content calling your car to go to the dealer for warranty. Theoretically if you did get the car back to stock and looks 100% normal. Make sure when the service tech asks whats the problem. Telling him 8 pounds of boost probably wouldn't be a good thing. DOMINION 12-07-2008, 11:22 AM The first ting I'd do, in theory, is post a thread on a public Internet forum asking about the plausibility of my plan for attempting to commit an act of fraud. :eyetwitch Its not fraud if they dont know about it  I'm sure no one from mazda would ever read these boards Hell no. They read every post about how people want more HP FI and more HP :) ken-x8 12-07-2008, 12:42 PM I'm sure no one from mazda would ever read these boards They do read this board. At least one member had his warranty voided because of something he posted here. Ken Myriad 12-07-2008, 12:54 PM They do read this board. At least one member had his warranty voided because of something he posted here. Ken Pretty sure that was sarcasm, lol kersh4w 12-07-2008, 12:58 PM im pretty sure you're right. zoom44 12-07-2008, 01:14 PM Could you, in theory, take the aftermarket parts out and replace them with stock? Avoiding a voided warranty? :scratchhe yes but then you'd be one of the assholes responsible for the hard time everyone else gets when they bring their car in for legitimate reasons I just want 200whp IS THAT IMPOSSIBLE TO OBTAIN WITH THIS VEHICLE? of course it is possible if you can read instead of just type another question.. would motor mounts be recommended? I was told that by stabilizing the engine better you prevent some parasitic loss. But then I hear that since its a rotory you dont really need to worry about it moving.. no you dont need any motor mounts at all. if you find one in their now take it out They do read this board. At least one member had his warranty voided because of something he posted here. Ken and at least 6 TSB and 2 Recalls are a direct response to issues people posted on this board. I for one am glad they read it. of course Abbid isnt so happy:) 04RX8man 12-07-2008, 01:20 PM yeah think it is a good thing that they read it to get real life stories about what is goin on mysql 12-07-2008, 01:30 PM Pretty sure that was sarcasm, lol Since I lack human emotion, I'm certain that I'm not capable of making sarcastic comments repeatedly on an internet forum. Wait, sarcasm is a human emotion, right? Maybe not, I think my dog does it. ken-x8 12-07-2008, 04:06 PM Since I lack human emotion, I'm certain that I'm not capable of making sarcastic comments repeatedly on an internet forum. That makes me glad that I took your post as straight-up. :) Also makes me glad that I did not post my other thought on this topic. Which was that removing a turbo, then re-installing it on the new engine is a pretty big effort, and that Rotard should consider just knocking off a few 7-11s to get the money for a rebuild. Ken Renesis07 12-08-2008, 11:06 AM I just want 200whp IS THAT IMPOSSIBLE TO OBTAIN WITH THIS VEHICLE? with 400 dollars worth on performance mods ( Typhoon, midpipe) , I dynoed at 190whp. It is FAR from impossible to hit 200whp, its actually quite easy. The questions is would all that money be worth the extra 10whp to me? :uhh: |
