First off, sorry to everyone who have had some issues using RP Maxgear in their manual transmissions. I bought some for my transmission and differential and have yet to put them in. Appreciate the updated feedback to avoid using it in the transmission.

My questions:

1. I think I will be using AMSOIL for the transmission, is this what people are using?
Manual Transmission & Transaxle Gear Lube 75W-90 (GL-4)

2. Can I still use the RP MaxGear in the differential? If I go with AMSOIL, it looks like I should use Severe Gear 75W-90?

Thanks!

1. Is that the GL-4 fluid? If it is, then that should be good to go. If you want an alternative to Amsoil, you can try the Motorcraft XT-M5-QS.

2. You can still use Royal Purple in the diff. The Severe Gear will also work back there.

^ Yes, that is the GL-4 only fluid. I know now to avoid any GL-5 in the transmission fluid. Thanks about the diff.

I put that in my transmission monday and so far so good. I will wait until my next "spirited" drive before giving my impressions though.
