I recently sold my black Enkei RPF1's because I wanted to go with a different look.
What wheels are just as light with a +45mm offset?

View Full Version : Lightest 18x9.5 wheel besides the Enkei RPF1? turborx8 11-30-2008, 01:12 PM I recently sold my black Enkei RPF1's because I wanted to go with a different look. What wheels are just as light with a +45mm offset? imput1234 11-30-2008, 01:28 PM Volk RE30 lighetest, CE-28, Wedsport TC105N they should but not sure about the offset. Transam kid 01 11-30-2008, 02:58 PM ultralegarras? Not as light but close TopGear8 11-30-2008, 03:25 PM ^I thought those only came in the 18X8's turborx8 11-30-2008, 03:46 PM The RE30's would be great but I hate the 4month wait time. TopGear8 11-30-2008, 03:56 PM ^And the price! imput1234 11-30-2008, 05:43 PM you wanted the lightest. EDIT: actually BBS RE in mag are the lightest. StuttgartRX8 11-30-2008, 06:12 PM the Volk TE-37 Mags are like 13lbs a piece. Rotr8 11-30-2008, 06:52 PM On tirerack the BBS REs are 20.3lbs there are a ton of wheels lighter than that EDIT-forgot about the Mag.... imput1234 11-30-2008, 07:55 PM The mag ones are between 14-15lbs. Zelse 11-30-2008, 08:05 PM Got any pics on rx8s just for kicks? BTW what about the ings+1 wheels that fluidmotorsports has? Maybe not the lightest but still decent, no? kersh4w 11-30-2008, 09:53 PM te-37 mags in 18x9.5 are $1700 each. not for the faint of heart. http://img160.imageshack.us/img160/9103/picture1761st.jpg also, the 18x10 is 14lbs. can you imagine what 17x8.5 is? i bet thats dropping 10lbs per corner.... imput1234 11-30-2008, 11:07 PM Have you guys seen the weds full carbon one http://www.endless-r.com/products/593_1_Weds-Carbon-fiber-wheel.jpg don't think you'll get much lighter. ;) wrong size tho turborx8 12-01-2008, 05:48 AM For the price the Volk RE30's are the best choice IMO. Who should I order these from? I want to make sure that I don't loose $4k to a non reputable shop. StuttgartRX8 12-01-2008, 05:49 AM I ordered my volk te-37's from Japanparts and had them in 18 days and it was a very good experience since I hate waiting for parts. SiLVeRE8 12-01-2008, 07:04 AM ce28's are about 16 pounds each turborx8 12-01-2008, 10:41 AM I ordered my volk te-37's from Japanparts and had them in 18 days and it was a very good experience since I hate waiting for parts. I can't find anything on their website. They don't even list Volk as a parts manufacturer! StuttgartRX8 12-01-2008, 11:52 AM I can't find anything on their website. They don't even list Volk as a parts manufacturer! Thats because the wheels are all Rays, they don't have the RE30 listed but they can probably get it you just have to ask. pdxhak 12-01-2008, 12:14 PM Send a PM to japanparts and I'm sure he can hook you up. BTW love the RE30s! What color and size you going with? turborx8 12-01-2008, 03:30 PM Send a PM to japanparts and I'm sure he can hook you up. BTW love the RE30s! Check vendor thread. i remember they had it on sale once. Rotr8 12-01-2008, 05:41 PM Have you guys seen the weds full carbon one http://www.endless-r.com/products/593_1_Weds-Carbon-fiber-wheel.jpg don't think you'll get much lighter. ;) wrong size tho Yeah, for these being out for around two years now, I still have yet to see any GT cars or anything for that matter race with these. I f I start to see serious race teams trust in a extremely brittle material like carbon then I may consider them.... LionZoo 12-02-2008, 12:53 PM Tirerack sells a TRMotorsports MT1 18x9.5 +45 that is 19 pounds for $315. I'm not sure if the bore diameter is a RX-8 fitment though as they don't show it for the RX-8, but the bolt pattern is correct. It looks like that wheel might have more brake clearance than the RP-F1, which would allow someone to run a BBK that isn't the special Enkei offset Racing Brake. turborx8 12-03-2008, 01:54 AM What do you guys think about the ings+1 TS06 wheels? The 18x9.5 are 18.4lb each. http://www.ravspeconline.com/shop/catalog/images/ings-wheel.jpg http://www.ings-net.com/english/products/wheel/zoom/imgs/rx-8.jpg Zelse 12-03-2008, 07:55 AM Lol I said that in my first post and no one said anything. :x turborx8 12-03-2008, 08:05 AM Lol I said that in my first post and no one said anything. :x I missed that because you only said Ings+ without the model#. :) Very good choice BTW. They are much cheaper than RE30's and they are really growing on me. Zelse 12-03-2008, 08:37 AM They look like hawt business. The look reminds me of a Wangan runner (if anyone knows that reference).. But it looks nice. Any pics of this on an RX8 besides above? turborx8 12-03-2008, 08:53 AM Any pics of this on an RX8 besides above? I wish! :banghead: I guess it's a good thing. If I do get them I will be unique. imput1234 12-03-2008, 09:16 AM The ings is baller, not the lightest of wheels but is unique and looks fresh!@ Zelse 12-03-2008, 09:25 AM lol That's true. But $700 a pop? I'd rather pay $500 for some Advan's. I'm still on the fence with the wheels I want... Imput you better not be ignoring my Recaro question in that other thread. :P Pwnz0r you :D |
