have you checked the DIY? it's a really straightforward install, no different from any other spring install.
Even if it's your first time, it's not very difficult. The DIY is VERY extensive and easy to follow.

you don't need an air compressor I did it with hand tools, be a man! its like a 2 hour job at the most with hand tools.. lots of funnn!!!!! I'm doing my RB end links AFE Shifter and midpipe this weekend. well I might do the shifter tonight I hear great things.

my dad has a shit load of tools, we got like 5 different impacts....^i did my midpipe 2 weeks ago, remember to remove the NUTS not the BOLT, i was stuck on that for quite a while

air compressor isn't necessary but I'm all about working smart, not working hard. You'll love the short shifter, great mod! :)

work smarter not harder, my dad always told me that growing up...if you got the tools use em makes the job that much easier

I can't say enough about how having the proper tools makes the job SO much easier.

BTW - The DIY needs updating. All the pictures were linked to another site, and they are gone. Maybe you guys can take pics of the process to help out the DIY.

I changed one rear strut by myself w/ the DIY, and it took about 20mins.
So I don't think it shouldn't take hours. Especially w/ extra help.
You may want to try getting 2 sets of compressors if you plan to have several people helping.

I have one suggestion;
There are different types of spring compressors.
The safer they are, the better chance of not dying.

Here is an example of cheaper/less safe compressors
Notice one end has a safety pin, but the other end does not.
The safety pin is so the compressor doesn't accidentally slip off and send a spring into your brain.

This is a better option. I bought a set of these at Autozone, so hopefully, they are the same ones you get to rent.

Make sure you pre-load the driver's side only, that way he can have a NASCAR prepared RX8.

+1 for being safe: if one of those springs comes loose while you're compressing it, it could kill you. Dead. As in....forever.

you buy like 2 regular sized limes, we cut them into wedges, then we put them in the brews and yum happens.

limes = green. Squeeze them just a tad. IF they're hard as a rock, don't buy them.
Slicing them is quite easy, juts hand a knife to the Mexican guy. If he can't slice limes to fit in a beer bottle, then it means they're not really Mexican and should be deported to canada.
