Attention all RX-8 Forum Participants:

Do not click on any URLs posted by new user Xelse

This user appears to be spamming us with useless messages that contain a URL that redirects you to another web site which apparently tries to install software on your machine - and does not appear to be RX-8 related!

Admins/Mods - please verify this user's post and advise.

Maximus,
Sorry I cannot answer that.

I did not stick around on that second page long enough to let anything happen on my PC. I killed the browser before it finished loading that page.

When you click one the website the browser automatically uploads an executable file called OutwarBrowserPlugin.exe , not sure what it does. I'm using my mac right now so it didn't install. What's up Xelse, what are you trying to do?

xelse, no matter what you think you are doing, you are nothing more than a scumball spammer. The site YOU directed us to under false pretences ("hey, look at pix of my car!") has nothing to do with cars and tries to install s/w on our computers. since u didn't write the software I presume you don't know what it does. This is how worms, viruses and trojan horses are propogated. Maybe this is great fun in your little world, but among those who seriously use computers and respect the rights of others it is contemptible. Perhaps in words you can understand, you are a lying, deceitful, snotty little SOB and possibly subject to criminal charges for knowingly spreading malicious code. If you want to talk about cars, then join the forum. Otherwise, go elsewhere to spread your scum and leave us out of it.

Oh, and have a nice day.

My pleasure.;)

Good to hear from another equally pragmatic DC resident from time to time.

Hello All,

I'd like to add that getting the word out on Xelse's funky URL droppings was a joint effort of "Racer X-8" and myself.

I noticed "Racer X-8" was posting warnings after each of Xelse's droppings - I offered to help "Racer X-8" get the word out and he accepted.

Sorry for the excess postings/e-mails or whatever - I figured it was not worth taking a chance that the little "unknown" executable would mess up someones PC.

regards,
rx8cited

I deleted his 60+ posts one by one - Got really old. He registered a total of 3 usernames (all banned), which prompted me to enable email verication for registration - Then it stopped. I followed the link he gave and it forwarded me to another website. I filed an Abuse Complaint for spam with the web company he had the forwarding set up through.

It seems the site he had it forwarded to was some kind of points game - The more clicks to the site, the more points - Whatever. Anyways, I reported him for spamming at that site also. Hope he gets banned.

Way to go, HeTz. That proactive response is the only way to squelch that kind of trashy behavior on the 'net. Re: My post above addressed to that punk: Boy, it sure felt good! I doubt if my comments will sink into his little pinhead, unfortunately.

Awright, issue closed. He's gone and Hetz did the right thing contacting his ISP.
