View Full Version : Bad Guy- RX8Club
chrism 11-19-2008, 08:34 PM Yeah i know this is gonna get deleted and im probably gonna get banned for some time on this but its worth it to me....why on earth are legitimate bad guy threads being deleted and bad guys being protected? ....this saddens me and makes me feel that this place is so untrustworthy.....yeah i drive a miata but it doesnt mean i dont use vendors here and dont still buy and sell here......how can i feel protected and safe if this keeps happening???
Transam kid 01 11-19-2008, 08:34 PM First
G3tR3DDY2GR3DDY 11-19-2008, 08:34 PM you cant
chrism 11-19-2008, 08:36 PM thats it??
Transam kid 01 11-19-2008, 08:42 PM Really, there has to be more than just Chris that feels this way....voice your opinion so everyone else can see what really is going on....and then see this realization thread get closed.
G3tR3DDY2GR3DDY 11-19-2008, 08:44 PM well thats the thing that is so stupid, the point of the thread is the fact that it will get deleted, which would prove the point in arguance, but then who cares after that? who do we go tell and get something done about it? NOONE :(
G3tR3DDY2GR3DDY 11-19-2008, 08:45 PM oh and i <3 boobs too... and my rx8 :)
Transam kid 01 11-19-2008, 08:47 PM oh and i <3 boobs too... and my rx8 :)
yes, they do come in handy....
O and thanks for the strut tower bars! I haven't put them in yet...but ever since I got them, my closet has experienced much less body roll
mysql 11-19-2008, 08:48 PM the forum gets a bad guy rating for deleting stuff.
this is a community website. we're not cattle.
the product of the site is the users. advertisers pay to get that product. if you shit on the product, the product leaves.
G3tR3DDY2GR3DDY 11-19-2008, 08:49 PM haha glad you got them.. wish i could have used them.
So anyone have a solution to what we do? or all we can do is bitch on here 20 minutes at a time between thread deletions?
Transam kid 01 11-19-2008, 08:49 PM well thats the thing that is so stupid, the point of the thread is the fact that it will get deleted, which would prove the point in arguance, but then who cares after that? who do we go tell and get something done about it? NOONE :(
The point of this thread is like any other bad guy thread: Come and explain what's going on, or prove the thread creator correct by avoiding it or making the problem go away...which will surely cause others to get suspicious and it will create a snowball effect.
Feel free to insert a response to Chris' questions below :uhh:
G3tR3DDY2GR3DDY 11-19-2008, 08:53 PM well if the people in charge are the ones being bad, whos in charge of them?
chrism 11-19-2008, 08:54 PM i am correct....point is that
I'd suspect the previous threads where deleted due to Scott's home address being posted in them. Not like it's hard to find or anything. Try Googling his name (Steven Scott Glassburn) and look for patents.
I'm not happy that my thread about their web site going away got deleted. Wouldn't it have been more appropriate for the mods to delete a single post?
nvrfalter 11-19-2008, 08:55 PM is this about (mazsport)
mysql 11-19-2008, 08:56 PM I'm not happy that my thread about their web site going away got deleted. Wouldn't it have been more appropriate for the mods to delete a single post?
Mods routinely EDIT posts to remove problem bits. There is no reason that I can see to eliminate complete threads.
chrism 11-19-2008, 08:58 PM other than stifling the OP
Transam kid 01 11-19-2008, 09:01 PM well if the people in charge are the ones being bad, whos in charge of them?
The people of course. The point of this site is to house a community of enthusiasts, not too dissimilar from a country; and in that same respect the people should be allowed to voice their concerns in hopes that the ones in charge will realize what they are doing and how the people of this "community" feel about it.
Hopefully that is what this thread will accomplish, yes in a dramatic way, but it seems that is what it takes. And before the idea is posed, no I don't think this belongs in suggestions because this is talking about "bad guys".
And yes I searched before this was posted :lol2:
romycha1 11-19-2008, 09:05 PM I'm surprised we haven't heard from any of the mods. Oh well, Chism, thumbs up to you for creating another thread.
chrism 11-19-2008, 09:05 PM i just linked a mod that i have been talking to on aim....
romycha1 11-19-2008, 09:11 PM Well, this'll get interesting. Hopefully this doesn't get deleted.
chrism 11-19-2008, 09:13 PM i have nothing to hide....have nothing but respect for the admis and mods.....they all know that....normally i dont cause trouble but this is just disgraceful in my eyes.....i just cant understand
G3tR3DDY2GR3DDY 11-19-2008, 09:18 PM wow still not deleted? wtf.. we might actually be on to something
ShellDude 11-19-2008, 09:18 PM maybe it's RG seeking vengenence
05rex8 11-19-2008, 09:20 PM maybe it's RG seeking vengenence
LOL....this crossed my mind as well... :suspect:

Seriously, why would they steal my sway bar...wtf.
O and yeah, this isn't a personal calling out thread, just a demand for answers.
Ugh, this genetics exam is going to be the death of me :banghead:
G3tR3DDY2GR3DDY 11-19-2008, 09:22 PM hmm.. whats the chances he created another name we dont know about and is deleting them all? any way to see who is deleting the threads or atleast being told to delete them. I would atleast appreciate a reason as to why the whole thread is deleted rather than certain posts.
If this is normal procedure, can some mod who is reading this please delete all my bad guy posts? thanks :)
05rex8 11-19-2008, 09:23 PM ^ahahha.....you have bad guy threads......HAHAHAH...scammer!
lol j/k!

I don't feel protected and safe... at all. Let's see ...
...let me count those that have let us down... just recently....the government...all the "expert" talking heads on most any subject almost everywhere, about 1/2 the general population everywhere, the media, the stock market, the credit markets, the US car companies, lots of bankrupt other companies, the housing boom, the drug companies.... need I go on... ok...and then there's the watchpeople of the vendor forum here. Oh surprise... I guess they weren't watching out for our best interests after all....
chrism 11-19-2008, 09:33 PM nope just the bottom line......but if it werent for us paying the vendors the vendors wouldnt pay them.....funny how that works
HeavyMetal699 11-19-2008, 09:36 PM I might get banned for this, but hopefully my post will just get deleted and I'll be warned.
But.... maybe we can set up a no RX8club day, or even a week. If enough people don't sign on for a whole week IB will see a nice drop in unique IP's. That's the bread and butter in advertising on the internet.
It would only work though if you didn't cheat and just "log off" and visit the site. This will hit IB where it hurts.

Good idea in theory, but so was Communism. We don't want to cut off the nose to spite the face here. At the moment, it isn't dire and I don't believe we need to resort to that yet. Let's do this civilly and have some higher ups come and discuss some issues with us.
canaryrx8 11-19-2008, 09:41 PM anyone else annoyed the "all new Z" is coming out in 2 months, yet the "not really new" 8 is still lingering out there...ugh.. I'm just sayin'. :(
I think this site has been a lot different since it changed hands, I even quit coming here for about a month or so just because I got irritated with some of what I read and saw. Surely there has to be a line to cross and all, but if someone's not crossing it, then I see no reason for them to have their entire thread deleted. Maybe if we just got a simple explanation that might help, wouldn't take much for that right?
chrism 11-19-2008, 09:45 PM guess we dont deserve it
zoom44 11-19-2008, 09:48 PM sorry guys i have been out since tabout 12:30 and just got back to find this. it seems a mod was concerned about the posting of Scotts personal info and some members also suggesting things like going to his house etc. this sounded liek threats so the the thread was deleted. could the posts just have been edited? maybe.
why dont you start a new bad guy thread and we'll see how it goes.
zoom44 11-19-2008, 09:49 PM Maybe if we just got a simple explanation that might help, wouldn't take much for that right?
sorry as i stated ive just returned home and got on this as soon as i could.
chrism 11-19-2008, 09:50 PM thank you zoom for being the voice of reason.....you have no idea how many of us appreciate that
ShinkaTeen 11-19-2008, 09:50 PM idk whats going on.
BUT I SUPPORT YOU :]
mysql 11-19-2008, 09:51 PM cool. So a mod can undelete the deleted thread and edit the offending post.

Solved with a single post; sounds good to me. Thanks.

I think he meant to start it over again, and to keep the offending post(s) out of the new thread and the new thread will remain.

+1..
ShellDude 11-19-2008, 10:14 PM That would make it the 3rd time Stick has had to create his thread. I like the reopen and edit accordingly recommendation.
G3tR3DDY2GR3DDY 11-19-2008, 10:17 PM well how many threads have we made? i know of atleast 5 that have been deleted. And more than that, people who have to KEEP making the same thread over and over. just saying 'make another and see what happens' isnt the best solution. If there is a problem with a post delete it, not the whole thread that just looks like you are hiding something. What is the point of the "bad guy" forum if you cant tell people about a "bad guy". Regardless of what info is there, its all public information on a public forum. If scott doesnt want his personal info or whoever on the internet, tell him to keep it private from listing websites. I can search you, charlie, and find your info if i want... but i dont have a reason to post it. When dealing with someone like scott who is scamming people and answers are demanded, then something needs to be done after a certain amount of time with no response. And what do you know? a search of his address in google results in two rx8's that are not his in his driveway!.. :icon_no2:
paulmasoner 11-19-2008, 10:36 PM http://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?p=2734304#post2734304
PLEASE dont give any mod a remotely just reason to delete this thread. If there is no reason for a thread to be deleted, and it is anyway, we have bigger problems then just a vendor here
G3tR3DDY2GR3DDY 11-19-2008, 10:53 PM got an idea....
Jedi54 11-19-2008, 11:05 PM and that idea is.....???
chris: mad props for creating this thread. I agree with it 100%
paulmasoner 11-19-2008, 11:07 PM got an idea....
dont tellme you have the other threads archived?? i see you reserved some space.......
well i checked google cache to see if i could save some people from posting their stories yet again.. no luck though
G3tR3DDY2GR3DDY 11-19-2008, 11:08 PM well maybe you can help, great jedi.
Plan is on the other thread, take the old mazsport threads ( all of them) and create a word file compilation of ALL bad user experiences/dealings and post them in one singular post at the beginning of this new thread... if it gets deleted, repost the word file again. That way we have account of everyones experience wether they wanna type it again or not. :)
sound good? anyone got the boredom to accomplish it? i have the spot reserved...

EDIT: is there an easy way in vB to archive a thread in text form offline? either way i working on putting whats still here into a file as is
G3tR3DDY2GR3DDY 11-19-2008, 11:20 PM maybe if you save page in offline mode? i dunno...
paulmasoner 11-19-2008, 11:29 PM maybe if you save page in offline mode? i dunno...
easiest way appears to be view the page in printable format, set to max posts per page. i got the original locked thread that stick made just in case. i'll archive the new on as we go, anything else that should get saved?
G3tR3DDY2GR3DDY 11-19-2008, 11:30 PM got the thread from 3mta3?
i think chris has a lot of info...
i still dont see why his info on the other thread is an issue.. anyone can search someones name and get their info..

http://www.rx8club.com/archive/index.php/
paulmasoner 11-20-2008, 01:52 AM ^^ got it, thanks for the link, very helpful :)
canaryrx8 11-20-2008, 02:38 AM sorry as i stated ive just returned home and got on this as soon as i could.
no worries man, I wasn't trying to hate on you or any of the mods, all it takes is a quickie explanation by whoever and problem solved. :) (and I know you can't always catch stuff, surprising one of the other mods didn't see this, or is that not how it works?)
I hope we can get this info to stay finally, I know for myself at least that when I buy parts from a company I get as informed as possible about their past, what they are up to, and how their customer service is, and this site has been and incredible help, but with this sort of thing going on it could end up really doing some serious damage to the community. I had been considering turbo kits from Mazsport, but after researching, I found it was a NO GO! Thanks to the threads I had seen before deletion, but what if I had not seen it in time and sunk a bunch of money into parts that I may or may not receive. It is a true disservice and insulting to us consumers, we should always have the right to be informed, no matter what. As far as personal info being posted I can see why we don't want that, but like it's been said the whole thread should have stayed. Like the hot wive/girlfriends and RX8's thread, 6 pages worth of negative posts were removed entirely, understandable absolutely but they didn't remove the whole thread. Same situation.
Normality_Glitch 11-22-2008, 12:56 PM First of all - Bose, I love your avatar.
Secondly - I'm glad the problem was fixed. Now perhaps if people wouldn't give personal information out and threaten the guy's well being in a bad guy thread you would not get your threads closed.
