I figure if the R3 was selling like hot cakes, they would make more... Renesis07 11-17-2008, 04:35 PM Does any One know for a FACT how many R3's mazda is going to make here in the USA? Every Salse person gives me a different answer .Thanks Sorry bud, I did an extensive search and couldnt come up with an exact number, however, numerous sources stated it was limited production. Since there is no exact number released, more than likely the salesman are stroking you with whatever number theyre saying. CyberPitz 11-17-2008, 04:45 PM They are probably trying to make it sound ultra rare so you'll WANT to jump on the price, making you think you'll be able to sell it for more later on! That's a concept, an 8 selling for more than 15k :lol2: SiLVeRE8 11-17-2008, 05:00 PM just get one before they are gone! bulletproof21 11-17-2008, 06:31 PM last i heard you had decided to keep your Cayman. CyberPitz 11-17-2008, 06:54 PM He likes to change his mind! :lol2: Spin9k 11-17-2008, 07:13 PM Perhaps your ? was a mistype, but NONE of the R3s are made 'here in the USA'. They are all true 100% "Made in Japan" cars, which makes them all the more coveted. Potentiated 11-17-2008, 08:50 PM How would a salesperson know how many Mazda is going to make? How old are you, Jaggerbomb? And why did you lie about owning a mortgage company. What is up with you? Are you crazy in the head? Potentiated 11-17-2008, 09:13 PM Why did you start two threads regarding this very very stupid question? greg985 11-18-2008, 12:07 AM I hope they're gonna get massive cuts off their msrp like the CROSSFIRE!!!!1 Dear Rotard, Thanks alot for killing me. PotatoSoup 11-24-2008, 01:59 PM Perhaps your ? was a mistype, but NONE of the R3s are made 'here in the USA'. They are all true 100% "Made in Japan" cars, which makes them all the more coveted. While assembly has always been and always will be 100% Japan, according to the '09 window sticker, the parts content itself is about 95% Japanese, and the remaining 5% (unspecified) is probably made up of components from the Ford USA/Europe parts bin. According the the Dec. 08 issue of Car and Driver, I think there were fewer than 2600 RX-8s sold in the US through the end of August. That was before all this financial shit really hit the fan, so I would expect 2008 calendar year sales (obviously a mix of MY08 and MY09) to finish well below 4000. Which means overall worldwide sales probably below 10,000 units. And the R3 might make up, what, 10-15% of that mix? So if I had to guess (and I am guessing), I'd say no more than 1000 R3s worldwide for the 2009 model year. For the 2010 model year, those figures could even be less if these economic conditions don't stabilize or, God forbid, deteriorate even further. Either way, you're probably more likely to randomly see a Ferrari in any given place than an R3. Certainly more exclusive than a Porsche, especially a Boxster/Cayman. Razz1 11-24-2008, 04:09 PM Who wants a uglier looking RX8 and that is slower and take longer to stop? That's the R3 OldCodger 11-24-2008, 04:19 PM Check with the RecaroŽ salesman. Only he knows for sure. Jaggerbomb 11-24-2008, 10:55 PM dont get so Uptight guys we are all .Car Freakes here and I mean no harm and will always have a soft spot for the RX-8 ok..be cool DarkLord7854 11-24-2008, 11:02 PM dont get so Uptight guys we are all .Car Freakes here and I mean no harm and will always have a soft spot for the RX-8 . My Final words to the Beloved RX-8 Club ..I am keeping My Cayman ,No offense but after looking at all the facts from the R3 's horrible gas milage to the thought of not having solid german engineering I just cannot do it.I am a good looking guy and a good looking guy In a porsche gets ..well Laid ,and Laid often so Its comes down to sex and I need sex so I am keeping the DAM PORSCHE!!!!! Man this Jagger is good ...see you guys on the other side ..be cool Yay! Potentiated 11-26-2008, 02:52 AM Who wants a uglier looking RX8 and that is slower and take longer to stop? That's the R3 Ok, did I miss something? Why is the R3 slower? PotatoSoup 11-26-2008, 07:37 AM Ok, did I miss something? Why is the R3 slower? It's slower, probably due exclusively to the 19s. I bet the '09 Sport and Touring models with 18s aren't any slower than the previous models, though. Potentiated 11-26-2008, 09:37 PM It's slower, probably due exclusively to the 19s.
