Racing Beat REVi intake: CARB testing

This maybe a repost, dunno... but I just read in the newest RB newsletter that they are looking to get the intake CARB approved and they need a stock RX-8 for the testing... here is the info:

"California RX-8 Owners -
We Need Your Help!

Racing Beat needs your help! We are currently looking for a relatively stock 2007 or 2008 model year Mazda RX-8 for emissions testing purposes. This vehicle will be used for California Air Resources Board exemption testing of the Racing Beat REVi Intake System. We will need to use the vehicle for approximately 1 week and the car owner will be provided a FREE & INSTALLED REVi Intake and Duct at no charge.

The testing procedure requires installation of the intake by Racing Beat, followed by emissions testing at an independent testing facility. The test is a "non-aggressive" test and requires minimal driving of the vehicle prior to the actual testing (approx 50-70 miles).

If you are interested in participating in this test or have additional questions, email us at jlanger@racingbeat.com with your contact information. Please provide name, daytime phone number, city of residence, list of modifications, and mileage."

So... who wants a free intake?

Mazurfer has a thread about it but the title is a little deceiving.

https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-aftermarket-performance-modifications-23/free-revi-duct-160575/

I would love to volunteer my car but it's an '05 and I already have their intake, duct, and exhaust.
I'll call RB and see if they could use an '05 and all I ask for is their new headers.

because we have the highest taxes in the country, strongest emissions laws in the country, AND because houses STILL cost waaaayyyyyyy too much.

Personally to me $500 is fair...but im waiting for my warranty to expire...still got another 8 mo! or 4k mi..... i have 46k on a '04...im def getting the race pipe in two weeks, headers...and duct...

Yep , not to mention all these fires , and earthquakes. Spend only 50 years of your life working , busting your *** to finally live your american dream , buy your own enormous house and have it burned away by some arsonist who thought it would be funny to light some bushes on fire. THE BIG ONE IS COMING. Watch out! :P Nah but i really do hate cali , just because the emissions bull **** , and the really bitchy cops(especially about import cars , omg)

Move away from Cali and you'll end up missing it. That's what happened to me. I left for four years and absolutely had to move back, damn the torpedoes. Now I'm finding a way to move back permanently to SoCal as NorCal is inferior.

I don't think they'll take an '05 since RB already owns an 05.

just checked RB's website and there's still no mention of a CARB cert for the Revi Intake.
I wonder what ever happened with the testing?

Next time I swing by RB I'll ask them.
