I'd also like to try to build some sort of amp rack in front of the box in that sunken area, I don't know maybe put plexiglass above the amp or something. any opinions? hopefully i will find a driver in my area.

looks like your about 3-1/2 -4 hours away or so. well if you want to make a road trip one day i will give you $30 for gas.

 

Personally i would prefer two small custom box that go on the left and right side of the trunk. (Over the rear fenders) Just giving you ideas because some of us have spare tire sets in the back so we cant put in boxes like that.

 

it just depends on the design of the trunk, maybe i will try to get one of each. can the spare tire set be replaced? how many of the RX8s have the set?

 

It depends. I know a lot of people have them but also a lot of people don't. Just some good info to have. The spare tire set can be taken out. It was an option given by mazda when you buy the car.

looks like i may have found a driver. I am thinking about doing something very similar to this.... with an amp rack built in the sunken compartment in the middle.

Witnessed his work firsthand today on my 8, his box fit like a charm. I'd recommend this to everyone.

 

looks good. very similar to mine. i have the zenclosures box and i made my own amp rack. you should post in the interior/audio section. you can make a Gauging Interest thread i believe to find out if it would be worth it to pay the vendor fee.

i forgot to ask, does that plexi go underneath the amp or above?
