Mazdaspeed kit!!! Getting front and sides, not the rear or spoiler. I am looking seriously at getting the Racing Beat wing to finish it off.

You're right though, I absolutely love the MS look, and you don't have to worry about fitment or any other issues. I look forward to seeing it in the spring :)

Bottom inch or two is chopped off. Top is zip tied to the mesh grille :D

Like I said to Thief when he did his plate, the law clearly states that ANY changes to your plate is illegal and a $155.00 fine!

Regarding the front plate, I pushed the top of the plate up under the black piece of the bumper and zip tied the bottom. I didn't modify anything in any way.

just run plateless, i got three tickets, went to file for court, all got withdrawn, but the cops still see it as three tickets given, now they just give me mercy.

Sorry, I don't. I know there are a bunch of pics in RR's sale thread. Unfortunately the pics I've seen don't do a great job because they make the light look much stronger than it is. You might have to go with faith on this one unless you see one of us with the lights in the mean time.

Prospec, + 1 on getting the RP03's, was actually thinking of going with the same wheels with the chrome "SBC" finish myself...search DonJuanmair's car as well for a great example of these wheels...silver looks equally as good :) I've found that AutoRnd in the vendor section seems to be only place that still sells the chrome finish though since that finish is "discontinued" meh...either way, great choice!

Honestly, I would perfer the silver as opposed to the chrome, to much blong factor for me.

Side note, ridonkulous. The speed wing is 810. WOW.

I guess they power coated these wheels because they look gunmetal and that color is not available for this wheel as far as I know. I really like the color...

Scott, be careful with huge splitters, im only on H-Techs and i have to be careful with scraping my MS bumper. I have a buddy club splitter set for the front. I have the sides as well :) but havent installed them yet.

Also, it's funny how the "REDLINE" zone on the tachometer is at 0 - 2k. It's like "uh oh, you shouldn't drive around that range!" which pretty much means don't idle the car, and don't drive slow, and don't upshift too early and ride a high gear at low speeds "to save fuel" hahahaha... but it's TOTALLY OKAY to drive around 8 - 10k RPM! No redlines there.

Then, the speedometer, same thing.. "130 km/h... careful now.. dangerous speed" probably dangerous cause you're getting your ass ticketed soon or something like that.

in left hand drive cars, our cars, our passenger aide mirror shows objects farther than they appear, since jdm is right hand drive, their passenger side becomes our driver side, and thus objects appear farther then they are in our driver side. Also the ms mirrors have smaller mirrors, another bitch. Lastly, they are 7 bills shipped from japanparts I believe.

Took a good look at the rear "spoiler" on the MS kit. And from what I can tell, it's an entire piece that replaces the current valance piece on the back. So I have no idea why you guys are planning on cutting your current valance piece. lol

Thanks guys for the props, but I think we'll have to hold out awhile longer. Took the little woman out to see the cars this past weekend. And after getting some rust proofing done with Agent008, she came to the conclusion that an RX-8 would probably be the wrong way to go.
So, after a few car dealerships, she settled on a 2009 Mazda3. We'll find out indefinitely on Monday.

I just looked at my own car's mirror. The passenger one says "Objects in mirror are closer than they appear".

Also, aside from that engraved statement, is there actual curvature (convex/concave) to the mirror piece itself to warrant that statement?

If not, and the mirrors on both sides are perfectly flat, then that statement is true because of the relative distance of the viewer to the mirror thus creating the optical illusion of differences in distance (hence the statement). The statement will not be true due to the curvature of the piece.

If that is true, then it means the JDM MS mirrors are perfectly fine as long as you ignore what's written on the mirror and you know that the other side's mirror is the one that should read "Objects in mirror are closer than they appear".

Damn, I thought it looked like an entire piece. So I was right on that part. But I didn't know you have to cut the rear valance portion to half it's normal height.
Weird. Then again, it's basically what I had to do with my rear diffuser on the 7. Only in my case I took the whole valance piece out and left a tiny portion to the left of the bumper. Enough to cover a small hole exposed from removing the entire valance piece.

Now the question is, are you guys going to attempt to get this installed yourself? Or are you going to have the dealer do it?

I think I'll just pay to have Eurasia do it.

I'll get Eurasia to aid in sides, but the front and rear are pretty sraight forward, I just worry about drilling, cutting go problem. And I have the stock spoiler, so those existing holes are used for the speed wing too, I believe.

Scott if you need a good body shop here in the West End, i definately recommend Phoenix Autobody. Now they have worked extensively with the 8's im sure they will be able to hook you up. There not priced too bad either.
