Can anyone believe that Mazda Canada is giving away a Free XBOX w 2 games for free with a lease or purchase of a new Mazda Car!!!! What's the deal with that!!! Did anyone get anything for FREE when they bought there RX8???

Where did you hear this? Mine should be arricing in a week or so and the dealership never mentioned anything about a free xbox.

Was at the dealership today in Ottawa. GM said, Mazda Canada new offer is XBOX with New Buy or Lease.

Yep, it's true. My bro is picking up a new Mazda3. And when he does he'll have an Xbox and 3 games free in the trunk....

It must be Xmas after all.... lol ;)

I didn't get anything free w/my 8. even though I got a good price on it. Maybe when I pick it up in Mar/Aprl it'll have one in the trunk. :D

Now if they would just release Sega GT Online with the RX8 in it like they were suppose to a month ago! Release date is slipped to jan 27 04 !

Hey MyRxBad, how did you get a "good" price on your 8? I know a dealer downtown in Toronto that is taking $500 off the purchase of any new vehicle, including the 8 with a coupon (believe THAT). No other dealer in town (Toronto) would even budge a dollar on the MSRP.

I'm currently trying to get my deposit back from a dealer in Richmond Hill. In order to get me to sign, the salesman assured me that the deposit was fully refundable. I just hope I don't lay down another deposit for an 8, to screw myself over :o

I tried to convince the dealer in Richmond Hill that I was able to get this deal, but doesn't believe. I even faxed him the coupon. Of course you can't really blame the guy, I'm sure he just wants to maximize his commission, but I'd put that extra $500 towards a spoiler :(

Sale manager called yesterday and gave me the VIN number, the tracking report showed the car is at sea. Wonder if I entitle the xbox if the car is here before Xmas. Is this Mazda Canada Corporate promotion. Should I call Mazda Canada if the there is nothing in the trunk !!!

The RX-8 qualifies for the XBOX. The rule is that the car must be bought and received between december 3 and january 4.

I get delivery of my car in may so that I do not qualify.

Pity.

It takes 10 days cross the Pacific, it should reach Vancouver Dec 13 or 15, 5 days via train from west to east, 5 days for local release/transport/PDI, WOW should be here XMAS day.... RX8 for me and XBOX for my kids. And money should have spend on gift for kids becomes set of new wheels for winter......HO! HO! HO!

That's crazy. How can anyone order and get an RX8 in under 31 days to qualify for this deal in december? Why don't they just say this offer only applies to people born on even number days of year in a month that has no more than 5 letters, has a glass eye, 1 wooden leg and a maximum of 9 fingers. IMPOSSIBLE.

Maybe if i got an xbox with the car, I wouldn't be so bitter that i'm not getting any breaks on the price.

I got a call from my dealer, my RX-8 is in. Looks like i'm getting an xbox.

Geee, I'm still waiting for my damn book... Wonder if I can get an x-box instead :D Calling Mazda Canada on monday, doesn't hurt to ask!!!

Nice! I order my car the first week of March, get it September 27th and have received no gift from Mazda. I was supposed to get the book, but with the HP change, I don't think I'm getting it anymore. My dealer mentioned something about some special pen. I have to call Mazda Customer Service and inquire again.

Crackerjax - I bought my car from Mountain Mazda in Hamilton and that's where MyRxBad ordered his from as well. No promises, but give Peter Pickering a call at Mountain Mazda. He is the GM there and the phone number is 1-800-663-8671. He is a great guy and may work out a deal for you. My experience there has been great and I highly receommend him and his dealership. the mazda pdf document (http://www.mazda.ca/eng/Promotions/pdf/National_Xbox_eng_Dec03.pdf) says applicable from december 2nd to january 5th. i guess that means you have to buy a car between those dates.

Burlington Mazda told me that since I will get delivery in May I do not qualify for a free XBOX but they will sell me one at cost, about $ 150.

It seems likke a good deal. price at Walmart is $257.

I have an RX8 book I'd be willing to part with for the right amount of $$$ :)

THE RX8 book, the one Mazda was giving away with the car. Hard Cover glossy print coffee table book.

My best friend just bought a Mazda3 but the dealer refused to give him the XBox even though his car was purchased and delivered with the specified period. Their arguement is that he bought through a car broker so therefore it was discounted and therefore he is not eligible for the gift. Bull!

He called Mazda Canada and even they said he should be getting the XBox. He talked to the sales manager of the dealer again but again was refused rudely. He is going to have Mazda Canada to call the dealer to straighten it out.

Is there any other way I can help my buddy to get his XBox ? If you have any suggestions, or contacts at Mazda Canada they you know please let me know. Thanks a lot guys.

Does the Xbox controller do anything for the 8?

Spoke to MC today. The book was cancelled due to the wrong hp but instead they are now sending out a pen set !!!!

I haven't yet received my $500 cheque from them either even though I took delivery on Oct 30th.

No mention of an Xbox.

Any other responses as yet. What did they tell you Redshift?

P/S although I would be curious in seing that book...but not desperate to pay MUCHO $$$$

I spoke to a Mazda Canada Customer Relations Manager and was basically told that we are never getting the BOOK and that in the next few weeks I'll receive a PEN and that the XBOX was out of the question. So you see, you go buy a Fraudulent Mazda Flagship of a vehicle worth $48,000 (taxes in) and you get nothing but a friggin PEN (most likely worth $.50 - $10 depending on what it is) and yet if I bought a $17000 dollar Mazda3 in December they get a Gift worth $300. POOR CUSTOMER RELATIONS


For instance when I bought my BMW 3-series, BMW gave me a Free Subscription to BMW Magazine (3 Years), I got a gift basket from the Dealership (worth over $200), free BMW hat and a keychain ($40).

Oh well what can you do. All I know is my next car is a BMW 545i, no more impulse buying for me.

Gaels: Well said, and very much what I was thinking. Hell, I'm not a greedy person or anything, but my Dealership as about 8 RX-8 hats, some mugs, umbrellas, kit bags and jackets in a display case at the dealership... they've only sold 4 (maybe 5) RX-8s... they've got more hats then they do cars... gimme a damn hat! :)
But, to come back to your original point... I love the car, but their customer relations is horrible. Overall my buying/ownership experience with Mazda has been very disapointing, and it's just the little things like this (making commitments - like the book, hell even the 247hp) that they consistently fail to meet. Then offering up a better deal a little down the road and essentially saying, "Sorry..we already got your money..."

I had told my dealership that once the new RX-7 is announced I'll put down a deposit and will be trading my 8, but with each little twist of the screw Mazda gives me (customer relations and/or service etc.) it drives me further from that.

*Edit: Wow.. where did all that come from? Huh... I've been working to hard lately.. I need to get some air. :)

Go take a nice long drive. It will calm you down. The weather is great today, and there isn't too much salt on the roads yet. I'm thinking a nice little 1.5 hour drive would be just the thing. And if you happened to stop by and pick up a fellow 8 owner who's car is stored for the winter....

Bwahaha... thanks for the tip Aaron. I do need a drive.. and the Integra just ain't cuttin it. :)
I DO still have the insurance on the RX.... hmmm...

BTW, the ASCC meeting dragged on forever last night.. you didn't miss too much other then the free go-karting...

So, if the book is cancelled I shouldn't bother giving my dealer the form for the book (someone posted a while back) when I pick up my car and xbox on Sat.? and should I expect a pen?

No, the book was to be the same one that Mazda USA sent out to all their pre-order customers. In Canada, everyone who took delivery in 2003 was supposed to receive the book. Even then, it was delayed because there was some controversy over whether they should send it to anyone since they didn't have a French translation version of it. Some (very few) copies did get sent out to a few of those who took delivery in July. My stupid dealer never sent in the form, then when I called Mazda Canada at the end of August they played paperwork tag with the dealer, then when I called at the end of September they told me the book was delayed because of the re-rated hp, then later they told me they wouldn't be sending them at all :mad:, but would send a pen instead. 5 months after taking delivery, still nothing!

I'm not too annoyed about the book for myself, because I got one back in June from one of the US pre-order customers who received two. It is a great book though, definitely worth having, and if I didn't have one I'd certainly be trying to find one on e-bay.
