Hi Folks,
I picked up an 06 Titanium(?) Grey AT a couple of weeks ago and the daily commute to hamilton has since gotten a lot more fun! (used to drive a jetta ;).

Really enjoying the car so far (getting lot's of second looks and compliments) but am starting to hear the brakes in my sleep, will hopefully get them fixed next week (this week was the engine mounts ;). Anybody got recommendations on something I can pick up locally to protect the leather seats? I managed to resist the dealers $400 leather-protector insurance (but not much else ;).

This is a great site, looking forward to meeting you guys at the next get together.

I use Lexol cleaner and conditioner. This is recommended by Gyrobot over in the BC RX-8 club. I met up with him in Vancouver this summer and he showed me what it could do.

You can't find it in retail stores here. You'd have to go to Lexol's website, and order direct online from them. I've used it twice now (I clean leather 4 times a year). I highly recommend it. It's better than Meguiars Rich Leather shampoo/conditioner 2-in-1. The Lexol is two separate bottles of stuff. You do a little more work, but the results are better. It will leave your car looking like factory OEM, meaning a more "matte" finish. If you like that glossy, "I had too much oily chinese food in my car" look, then go for the Meguairs stuff.

Wrong, I find that to be richer, shows off the dark deep interior of the 8, plus matches the 303 or nxt finish you apply on the dash.

Hi GTA/Oakville RX8 folks..

I picked up my 2007 RX8 (with 100 km on it) last week after reading the car's pros and cons on the forum. I enjoy every time I have a chance to drive it. It looks like there are quite a few RX8's in Oakville based on the GTA roll call list. But so far I have only been able to spot a RED one on the road while driving around Oakville. The RX8 is a car that stands out and often get a second look by others among all other sport cars (Bimmers, Porsche, Mercedes and Mustang) often found on the road in the Oakville area.

I look forward to seeing the other RX8 in the area and may get a chance to meet some of you.

Glad you're enjoying your new ride. What color is your new 8, I will keep an eye out for you? What part of Oakville are you from? I'm in the River Oaks area.

Hey RX8thunder, I saw a RX8 going north bound on Neyagawa around 6 pm this afternoon. I was going south bound on Neyagawa towards Upper Middle. I had my window down at the time and the sweet sound of the rotary engine caught my attention (I was driving my other car and the RX8). Was that you in the great looking RX8 ?

My 8 was in the garage that morning and blocked by wife's SUV. I was running late so I took my other car to work instead. But I am always in my 8 Friday and the weekend. I will let you know if I run into you again, espcially if I am in my 8.

Hey! I know that feeling well ... I was without my last car for many weeks!!! I found the best way to cure that feeling was to forget that car and buy an RX-8! Wait! That won't help you here. man. that sucks!:dunno:

Yes, I did all this week and including a trip all the way to Ajax and back. Unfortunately, I just noticed somone put a dent on door of the passenger side . I am always very careful when comes to parking but it did not help. I am looking into getting it fixed. Have anyone in Oakville used the Dent Wizard before ? I have heard the small dents on door can be repaired without doing body work. Any information will be helpful

Hey Guys, Greg and I will be installing a couple of things at my place in Oakville on June 14th. Come by anytime after 9am to say hi and hang out for as long as you like -- I'll have a box of Timbits waiting for you :) it would be great to get to know more of my Oakville neighbors. PM me if you don't have my address.

yes everyone this is a much better idea than just a coffee meet. these install meets at scotts place are always a blast. you get to see the rx8 enthusiast in their natural environment (working on their car, lol). Plus, this way saves me gas (only one trip to oakville next weekend. haha)
