RX8 Knight Rider 08-13-2009, 09:01 AM Is there anyone who lives close to channelview area that could help me with my car? It wont start so i cant go anywhere and IDK wat is wrong with it. It is doin the weirdest stuff and im lost. I just want to get my car running again.
RIWWP 08-13-2009, 09:04 AM Here is the thread discussing the issues:

It seems like an issue from the battery, but the battery checked out fine. Possibly a connection problem, or FOB coding problem. I'm a bit too far to drop by myself.
Shijin-Kun 08-13-2009, 10:13 AM i would come help but im going out of town this weekend. Can you be more specific with your problem?

I'm going to put my bets on the engine being flooded.
RX8 Knight Rider 08-13-2009, 11:08 AM When i push the unlock or the lock button on the factory alarm my gauges start going crazy back and forth, the car wont start at all, the lights are flickering like crazy and a bunch of other stuff. I have a buddy who told me that it could be the actual alarm that is messing up the rest of the system and i need to reset it. It cant be the engine flooded cuz the starter wont even spin to try and crank the motor. Its hard to explain but i guess its just gonna sit till i have the money to tow it to the dealer and get it checked or till some1 can come check the car out in person and give me some ideas.

Sounds stupid but I had to do this to my Mercedes CLS-55 once when it did the same thing.
Disconnected the battery for a few hours so anything in the computer that might be a "bug" would discharge.
Then hooked the battery back up and it like "cleared itself". Kind of like rebooting a computer.

Roll tire wells, 25 bucks each at
786 motoring
17717 motorlake dr
amen amis rizui
786 Motoring is the place to go. Both Sifu and I had ours rolled there. Good guys. It is $25 a corner, you'll only need your rears rolled, and ask them to cut some of the rear wheel well liner off. They should remember what they cut off of our cars.

I will try to get one going sometime soon. Then we could go from there. Maybe we can try it on another day besides Friday for certain people.
I just talked to another new owner that will be picking up his 8 sometime this week. Turnout this time should be great if they come out. :)

Stroudism 07-27-2010, 09:05 AM Hey guys, I have only had my 8 for about 2 months now and the addiction is more intense than I could imagine. What a sweet car. Anyway, I'm hoping I can get some help from local Houston members with a few items:
1.) I want to do a compression test. I want to install NOS but need to check engine health. Anyone know how to do this?
2.) Anyone installed nitrous before?
3.) How can I adjust my camber? I am told you can do this with stock camber arms (I have Tanabe springs)
4.) I have a lip kit being shipped to me and need it painted. I read someone here does paint. I would love a quote.
I pay in beer and food and am willing to turn a wrench for anyone else that needs a hand (obviously I will pay money for paint). I'm not terribly savvy mechanically but I do any work on my own that I can. I plan to do the NOS by myself (yikes).
silverkillrx8 07-28-2010, 03:45 PM just a comment r u sure u wanna do nos i mean i was gunna do it but ended up not doing it cuz it leaves residue and if ur motor goes n u take it to the dealer they wont cover it at all not to be negative but just my opinion ... but on installin it i have done it on mustangs a few times so i mean it just depends on where u want the injector

Yeah, I'm sure. I've been doing my research and it seems harmless enough. Plus, the dealership is replacing my motor next week, so I'll have a brand new one. Also, you don't have to spray all the time....
inTEGrate89 01-06-2012, 01:12 AM i'm reviving this thread... let's keep all Houston posts in here!
for you rx7 lovers, this seems to be a decent deal:

inTEGrate89 02-04-2012, 10:05 PM I'm back from my hiatus.
I just got my plugs and BHR coils and wires so I hope to get this project installed in a month. Gotta fix my other car first.
I'm a newb so I've been researching on installing the BHR. I have a decent idea but the getting the new bracket in sounds tricky.
If anyone is interested feel free to join in and learn with me!
