What are your thoughts should mazda offer a free or subsidised oil change on our cars when the correct natural mineral based oil gets to our dealers ?

I for one will not be happy if i have to once again pay for another oil change its NOT our fault that mazda did not have the correct oil for the rx8 in the 1st place ? so why should i be out off pocket for another oil change to get the right recommended oil .

Like to hear your views .

Good luck with that... personally, I think a snowflake has a better chance in hell than of Mazda doing this... they won't even issue a recall for the faulty sump sensor, remember? Gotta play them at their game, for example, I knew I needed the new sump, so waited till 5000kms was up and time for an oil change, got it done for nix when they did the sump... if they do it though on yours, you'll be a hero to all on this board :)

As long as the oil is priced around the level of other similar oils, then that's fine. The main thing is that it should be freely available. As a personal comment, I am totally against all forms of subsidies. I thought that Pennzoil made a suitable grade?

I may have not expressed myself properly i wanted mazda only to give me a free oil change with the correct new oil or subsidise the cost of my next oil change that i am forced to get if i want the correct recommemded oil.

Mazda f#$%& up by not having the correct oil from the beginning , i just had my 10,00km oil change , so why should i have to outlay more money to get the right oil in my car.???, after just paying for my last service .

I think this oil thing has been done to death :o Mazda Worldwide and MA have clearly endorsed a number of oils and I still have not seen an unambiguous, informed statement that synthetics are bad for the Renesis :confused:

I therefore can't see any reason why MA would even contemplate providing a free oil change!

There are more myths about oil than sex. (including that one about a solar panel for a sex machine :) )

The book states which oil specification is required. Mazda service my car, and put the oil in, and they have a special bottle of "RX-8 Oil". I have seen it - it was Castrol something arother. But the grade was correct. They take the responsibility. That is partially why they cost more than a local mechanic. (don't flame me - I did not say a local mechanic is worse. And I said partially, not only)

I have had 2 "top-ups" at no charge. :p
