Varies between vendors of the mid-pipes and high flow cats.
Some mid-pipes are horribly loud while others are quieter... same goes for high-flow cats.
Then it also depends on the combination of the mid-pipe/high flow with the cat-back.
Gas smell will be worse with a mid-pipe.
In the end, it comes down to personal preference.
Some like it louder than others.

yup, comes down to what you like and what you're willing to put up with.
I have the RP supercat with an RB exhaust. Great combination (IMHO) and I have yet to be harassed by police.

Theyll all shoot flames. If you tried hard enough you could get flames from the stock setup; rx8's run very rich.

I would have to say that encounters with the law vary from cop to cop

^^ Agreed. From personal experience, I was being and idiot, and floored my car, I was doing 49 in a 25 and around the corner came a cop. I got a huge fine. I was running the Agency catless midpipe, and he said he could hear me comming from 5 blocks away. He was furious with me and even said he was going to take me straight to jail, but never did check to see if I had a cat or not. I got really lucky! Now take that same situation with a different cop, I might not even have my car now. Something to think about.

with a midpipe and CAI, I still average 15-18 around town and 20-22 on the freeway. That has not changed due to any mods.

WHy wouldnt you have the sensor? Theres a hole for it in the pipe (hence why it throws a cel)
