This is my first post here. Just bought a 2008 Sport 2 weeks ago.
Sorry if this is a repeat but I tried the search to no avail.

Question is:

Are paint irregularities covered by the standard warranty?

I was looking at my car the other day (only driven it about 100miles or so) and it has a mark, quite large (about a hand or so) on the top of the hood by the wipers
that looks like someone stuck glue on the car. However theres nothing on the paint, its just lost its shine and luster (its now matte black). The paint still feels smooth though.

It's not a warranty issue but you should speak with your dealer to see if they're willing to help you out.

 

and you are where? did you not look at the car before you drove it off the lot??

the owners manual should be in the glove box..

it could just be a little glue that they use when they make cars. After they make cars they apply a white plastic sheet to a lot of the body pannels. You can take it back to the dealership and they will have the detail department take care of it for you
