MMO as per carbon TSB-REVIEW

Well since nothing I have done so far seems to be able to raise my hot idle vacuum from 15", I thought I'd give one last shot at decarbing. Instead of seafoam, I have seen numerous references on the 7 club forum (and few on here) about using MMO in the same manner. So I basically "hydro-locked" the car with MMO and let it sit last night. Started up this moring and got MORE smoke than seafoam...and it stinks twice as bad! Well, let it run for 20 minutes in the driveway. Drove like I stloe it for 20 minutes, and I am still getting smoke when engine is under vacuum, but it is clearing up. ?Going from white to blueish, just as seafoam does before it all burns out. It is certainly lingering much longer than seafoam and I have pretty sooty tail pipes now. I dont recall having this build-up with seafoam. I checked my vacuum and itr is still 15, so no change, but the car did feel a lil smoother thru the rev range....but in the end, it has done nothing, but make a bigger mess than seafoam. I will continue to use it at 6-8 oz every fill-up, but not as a replacement for seafoam.

By chance does anyone know how long this stuff takes to burn off? I have run the tar out of it and am still getting those nasty fumes with plumes of blue smoke. I may run a can of seafoam thru just to clean it all out I have no noticable change vacuum or drivability... Just stinks to holy hell and looks like a car with a burn pistion ring.

you dont have a cat do ya? that much mmo--can it hurt a cat? Just go to the dealer and get the decarb stuff--in a can/kit=--about $20 -it works the best.
15 of vacuum at idle--means --you know. check it at 2K no load also. it should be about the same.

I ran a can of seafoam thru and sure enough, all the smoking has stopped. I dont have a cat, so I'm good to go there. I changed the oil after the seafoam rinse and rechecked my vacuum at hot idle twice and got 16 steady the first go and 15.5 the second check. I know the vacuum #s are low, but I have no powerloss issues or stalling...
Just for comparisons, had some club members over today and did an 04 reman'd auto that had 30K on it and it pulled 15.5-16.
Also had an 04 w/41K pull a rock steady 17".

Funny thing is my car feels stronger (according to the other club member) than his healthier engine...

I see your sig shows a B&B mid pipe.
If you do not have a cat, go to Walmart and pick up a quart of "CD2" (a lead substitute) in their automotive section. Premix two Oz per tank of gas and watch the vacuum slowly rise, after about three tanks, you should see a good bit more vacuum.

Would any deposits on the plugs appear and how often would you have to run it?

Did you purge most of the liquid out of the sparkplug holes, or just run it into the exhaust?

MMO has a lot of seafoam-type solvent, but does also contain oil, which is why it's a better smoke-generator.

2 K vacuum should be about the same as idle vacuum--at least on recips it is. if it is higher--now it has to be a steady state no load(as in driving etc) 2k reading.
if it is higher at 2K then it may not be wear related.
