quazmosis 10-15-2008, 01:56 PM Drive the crap out of it. I'm serious Redlines are good for this car to keep the carbon away. Also read up on the oil threads for maximum protection.

The more you read in this forum the better your experience with the your 8 will be. Redline daily, premix, keep the engine cool and warm up before using.

Phil's 8 10-17-2008, 06:45 AM welcome, there fun to drive, is it MT or AT? i hope MT,Now don't become one of those insufferable MT people that will not admit that ATs can be fun. and what was he talking about premix?Do a search on premix and see what you get. Mazda did not set up the oiling system quite right and adding a premix will add life to your ride i drive 8 hour days with my rx8 and its great
The search button can answer a most of your questions.

Its still a grand touring; the appearance package is an option.

ok so its a GT then which is the "best" or "highest" one, correct?

aside from the specail editions (shinka, 40th ann) yes. On the 09's, Im not sure if the Grand Touring or the R3 is the highest.
luis@championsmotorsports 10-18-2008, 11:11 AM nice color congrats and welcome to the addiction :)
GaMEChld 10-18-2008, 11:36 AM For longevity sake, possibly consider premixing, I started late, around 50K, but I did just put in a turbo so I probably need the extra protection. But even if the car is stock, I hear it is a wise preventative measure. Oil is the lifeblood of the car, so read up on it. Redlining this car is important to clear out some carbon, and increase OMP flow to the seals to lube them up (at least that's what I have gathered so far). And as someone with an 04 myself, definitely don't start and stop the engine in very cold weather, it'll flood. Let it warm up. Also, the stock tires are useless in snow, so be warned.
