Hello all! I've been lurking here for about a week or so and decided to finally post something. I intend on buying an RX8 within the next six months or so (gotta get some things paid off) and want to research and learn as much as possible about it. I also need a hobby and have always been somewhat fascinated by cars and engine-type stuff.

My reasons for wanting an 8? I don't see many on the road where I'm at (Charlotte, NC), something about a rotary engine caught my attention, and the look of the RX8s kicks a$$. So basically I'm here to ask for some advice on where to learn about cars/engines to tweak them for better performance. I've checked out the tutorials on howthingswork.com and they've been a big help. Any books for websites for beginners? Thanks a lot!!

The 8 is a fine performer w/o tweaking. The warranty is great so I would not mess with components unless your dealer agrees it will not void the 4 yr 48k . Let me know before you buy!

I found the above faq helpful when I first started looking at the RX 8.

a little more advanced rotary theory:

www.rotaryengineillustrated.com

and for even further than that, search for any post by "rotarygod", 'cause his are always really sick.

read through the Tech Section, and sometimes there are some interesting things in the Aftermarket section.

beyond that, ask questions and we'll do our best to answer.
