LOL...go freakin figure. I would say the 8 is the safest, since we give a shit about our cars and look before turning, compared to the other ones in the picture. :lol2:

U have a POS tailgating you with a woman driving...now that's scary!

Incorrect non-Canadian spelling!

I think there is a gray area with spelling.

Footman, not trying to sound like a smart alec, but you realize that your M1 expires in 3 months, and hat the M2 course costs 400? And most places are stopping courses by November. Unless your taking the M1 just for the hell of it.

Thats why I'm waiting till next year. Also did you get insurance to quote you yet?

Footman

I'm studying now, but I'm not doing the M1 until next year. It'll be a refresher next year when I do it.

So you going with the CBR125? Ninja 250? 600 Bike?

Footman
10-07-2008, 10:34 AM
The CBR125 is pretty cheap to estart with eh? $3300 brand new... can get me around Hwy 7 to work next year when I move up there.

Ya, but have you seen it up close. Go to Kennedy and Ellesmere, theres a Snow Mountain Bike Shop.

Its a tiny bike. Cheap, cheap on insurance, wont get you killed, but its tiny and slow.

Plus most use it as a trainer bike and than swap out.

Im just gonna skip the step and go straight to the 600. If you take the course, and drive smart.

But if your serious about the bike, I am, and if Faded is too, I have another firend also.

We could all buy in the states and get them shipped up here.

Bikes are dirt cheap in the US.

Slow is the key... like I said... walk before running, hence I wanted something I can easily control...

prospectjtaz

You can control this,

Just go slow and steady.

Seeing all those nooks and crannies on the bike makes me cringe when it's time for me to wash it..... so many spots to clean!

i wrote my m1 for fun last year just walked in wrote it passe. then proceeded to ride my friends bikes from time to time. i now know i cant be trusted on a bike way to much fun to be had.
i do worry about you getting a bike Andrew since I've seen you drive your car, a certain pass going up hill comes to mind.
quick fact motorcycles make up 2% of the driving population and account for 10% of fatalities

Why is that pass so memorable to you all??!?!!??! Darkbrew nags about it too. It was a fairly standard pass.. no drama.

Dude, it didnt miss your calls, it was that one time.

Jailbroke iPHONE rains all, I'm downloading Torrents off it now.

You guys Need to Download Russell Peter Red White and Brown, just came out on DVDrip as a Torrent. I would buy it to support him, but after what Alba did, none can be trusted. Bought Dark Angel and she decides to get knocked up, tsk tsk.

That's a real twist on stats...a more tangible one is that only a fraction of 1% of motorcyclists bite it, and take away alcohol and the <25 age bracket from the equation and it's much less. Listening to you guys, it sounds like he has a 50/50 chance of survival. Whatever you like about the 8, and I love my 8, multiply that by 100 and that’s motorcycling. Try it without fear - just some basic training, a little common sense and restraint is all you need in the first years. Trust me Andrew, you won’t regret it.

You have to drive a bike like a jackass, like rev it in place and all that that Fun Stuff.

Get others to notice you, now your odds go up past 50.

I'm getting that CBR600 for sure next year. Tried of paying 80 a week in fuel.

I just sold my Ninja 500R this summer...I dropped my bike twice, nearly got ran down twice, ran out of road twice, but still...

I love the smell of cow shxt in early afternoon....with angry bees stuck into your fcking helmet and sting your head like you rape his queen...

Its a great experience. That's why I sold my bike to get the 8 so I can have my bones in one place when I die in a crash lol...

^ been riding all my life and that never happened.

Anyways, I never understood car guys who don't like motorcycling...'fer Christ sakes you're strapped into a motor! You feel curves rather than sit on 'em.

My point is if you ride with fear, of course you won't enjoy it. And a 500R (it's a joke to call them Ninja's) is the motorcycling equivalent to a Corolla. Do you find Corolla's exciting?

Ride a good bike with skill and confidence with the right equipment and it'll change everything. Go trail riding up in the Ganaraskas, try a racing school or a track day. Then see if you think that motorcycling is lame.

I am pretty light weight so its good enough power for me, the power to weight ratio of that is equivalent to a Sti, without all the cages...I ride with fear because I respect my life and I do not intend to let my guard down.

A Corolla is exciting when you drive it for the first time in your life. I never rode any motorcycle at all so its good enough for me. Also, a corolla protects you when you crash, a motorcycle cannot.

I enjoy the time I have with the bike, its just the insurance + risk ratio is too high, even for a Femininja...and Jeremy Clarkson hate motocycles to guts :P

If I live in the countryside though, that will change...I cannot ride to 404 / 401 highway without getting daily asshole-oh-shit moment, so I say screw it.

And Jay, there is truth to that statement...when you ride with complete disregard of others, they will fear you...and when you riding with traffic respecting the road law, people will just be jackass...strange but true.
