View Full Version : What is your favorite Top Gear episode ever?
dillsrotary 09-30-2008, 10:32 AM For me...
Season 10, Episode 1 — Originally aired on October 7th, 2007
Jeremy attempts to drive the 641 horsepower Volkswagen Golf W12
Jeremy, Richard, and James drive from Monaco through the Alps in three lightweight supercars — a Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera, Porsche 911 GT3 RS, and Aston Martin N24 V8 Vantage — to find the best driving road in the world
SIARPC: Dame Helen Mirren
It is my all time favorite episode, mainly because of the 3 light weight super cars travelling all over europe.

Whats everyone elses????
JRichter 09-30-2008, 11:03 AM ^ That one is really good, lol. James in the Aston is priceless.
Probably one of my favorites is the one where they drive across Africa after purchasing beaters. They comments they make to each other are priceless and when they start removing body panels of the cars to save weight it gets really funny.

Favorite quote: James: Can I just say...you [I]look like a gay cowboy, and you [I]look like a gay terrorist.
Season 10, Episode 4 — Originally aired on November 4th, 2007
African Special: The boys travel to Africa with a mission (or two): they must each buy a car – but not a 4x4 – for no more than £1,500. They must then drive the cars they buy across fairly unforgiving terrain in Botswana - including the Makgadikgadi salt pans, raging rivers and game reserves. Game reserves… that’s where big carnivorous animals live, isn’t it? Hmm...
quazmosis 09-30-2008, 11:11 AM I personally liked the episode of Amphibious cars II. I was in tears watching those guys try to cross that channel.
dillsrotary 09-30-2008, 01:34 PM ^ see I thought the first amphibious car episode was better than the second, mainly because jeremy flips right before the dock.
I would say a second fav episode is when the 3 hosts + stig ran the 24 hour race with the diesel BMW.
TopGear8 09-30-2008, 01:42 PM All of them :)
PBlue 09-30-2008, 02:10 PM season 10 was ftw
kinda surprised noone mentionned the one with the rx8.
I like the bit where jeremy did the sagaris, because i love that car... so pure... so pissed off... so ridiculous.
but overall my favorite had to be the one from miami to new orleans...
i cant be bothered to look up the quotes exactly, but in miami:
"apparently if we go past 17th street, we will definitely be murdered"
and then when they get attacked in alabama. amazing.
shaunv74 09-30-2008, 06:05 PM I like the RX8 episode.
"Of all the cars I've driven this year; this one...is the best."
Jethro Tull 09-30-2008, 06:38 PM I've heard of this show, but since I watch probably less than 50 hours of TV programming per year, I've never seen it. Are back seasons available on DVD?
shaunv74 09-30-2008, 07:22 PM youtube FTW!!
If you only watch 50 hours of TV per year this show should be at least 5 of them...
Luftwaffle 09-30-2008, 11:13 PM The North Pole episode was pretty good.
Has anyone watched the first episode of James May's Big Ideas? If you manage to download it, scroll over to 44 minutes and there is some cool stuff.

Morgan 09-30-2008, 11:19 PM I just love top gear in general...I might be considered obsessed..?
lurch519 09-30-2008, 11:24 PM top gear is awesome. british humor is just soooooo funny. i so wanna go back to the uk some day, i dont remember being there, as i was really young, as in less than 2 when i left, but i was born in scotland. i didnt start talking until we came back to the states, but my parents friend came over to visit, when i was about 3, and i was talking with a scottish accent within 24 hours. now back to your regularly scheduled program
thecow135 09-30-2008, 11:44 PM i <3 topgear.
and i agree. the american vacation one was awesome.
JRichter 10-01-2008, 10:21 AM The Australian version debuted a few days ago. Anyone catch it? It is exactly like UK Top Gear but with Australian hosts, settings, and cars. The intro is the same, the studio looks almost the same and the segments are set up the same. The jokes/humor appear to be the same. Even a Stig. Not bad. I'm wondering if the US version will be setup the same way.

Feras 10-01-2008, 11:19 AM i like the episode with the apache vs. the elise that was awesome.
Smoke Honda 10-01-2008, 11:47 AM The episode that he was trying to destroy the Toyota Pickup. I can't believe noone mentioned that one.
Luftwaffle 10-01-2008, 11:52 AM The episode that he was trying to destroy the Toyota Pickup. I can't believe noone mentioned that one.
That was the same episode where Clarkson reviewed the RX-8.
Blackout04RX 10-01-2008, 11:53 AM I love the RX-8 episode part when he tries to describe the styling. "It's like they had a little suggestion box. Some wanted 2 door coupe. Others wanted 4 door saloon. Then they said no no no... lets do everything" (more of paraphrase then quote) but I love the stig. The episode when he is introduced is absolutely hilarious. He did post some sick driving of the Koenisigg (probably very very wrong spelling haha)
Blackout04RX 10-01-2008, 11:54 AM Damnit now I have to go watch it when I get home later haha
playdoh43 10-01-2008, 12:00 PM I like the one where they drove through the deep South with liberal slogans painted on their car and was forced to run away because their lives were in danger.
Smoke Honda 10-01-2008, 02:10 PM That was the same episode where Clarkson reviewed the RX-8.
Ohhhh yea....... I knew I liked it so much for a reason.
