Took the '07 in other day cause needed to take care of my grinding issue. They pulled the tranny and found 2nd gear teeth nulled over. And quite abit of FOD floating around in the fluids, ie the teeth. Now they are trying to point fingers and blame me for 'speed shifting'. I shift it like sex.

Question. Are the rx8 trannys as much of a glass cannon like DSMs are?

 

They aren't known for being robust.

What are some of the guys running a turbo setup doing to save their trannys?

 

On our Turbo RX-8 we are running a stock tranny to see how far she will go. She has been holding up 360+.

Some clutches that I like are ACT or Exedy.

ACT makes a very nice streetable clutch.

 

Dealership just locked both keys in my car. Now they cant roll it in to put the new tranny in.

Waiting for them to try to charge me for the locksmith to open the car.

rx8, 08 or earlier model tranny are "known" to fail, especially the 2nd gear.

 

Got the car back this morning. 4 days. Car feels like sex. Missed it so much!

yea mine has been rebuilt like 3 times..

Always second gear.. recently second gear a tooth broke offf.

these trannys are really weak
