Alright guys I know Rx8 drivers all have there own style,

so what kind of music do you listen to while on the road? and do you listen to it loud or with the windows up at a mellow volume?

Its an interesting topic so there might already be a thread about it and if so im apologizing in advanced :P

I rarely listen to music in my RX8.

Since getting my Sirius unit installed, I listen to pretty much nothing but the news stations (CNBC, Bloomberg, NPR, BBC, etc).

With a non stock stereo system I listen to classic rock, heavy metal, blues and funk.

Windows sometimes are up and sometime are down.

Ironically I had someone motion to me at a red light around a month ago. She said man that is loud you should turn it down. I was only at half volume when she motioned me so I turned it down t hear her. Once done I turned it up to around 90% volume and smiled liked an a$$. She just laughed.

It felt good ;).

Take care,

Brian

I'm suprised I'm the first one to say hip-hop and rap.

I do listen to some electronic on occasion, or some Jim Rome, or Jazz, or something else, I try to mix it up, but hip-hop and rap are definitely the biggest for me. I'm sure I'm get ridiculed by some one for it.

For the most part it's The Tragically Hip

But the odd hip-hop or rock tune is always a pleasant change of pace.

What i listen is a pretty ecclectic assortment of genres... for example, right now the 6 disks i am spinning are Frontline Assembly, Lacuna Coil, Disturbed, Enigma, Joe Satriani (no better song to drive fast to than Surfing with the Alien) and Garth Brooks.

As for volume, it's all over the place depending on mood.

i tend to drive on the motorway most of my time, so enjoy some company such as radio one, but i like listening to classic fm for relaxing.

i did have the armageddon movie cd in, which is aerosmith, bon jovi etc, and one afternoon driving home i turned up to about 15 on the volume on the instrumental song, the one with the classic guitar, just to hear how good it sounded, and with all the dramatic music going later in the song, i was tearin down the motorway whizzing past all of the meteorites, ahem other cars, as my shuttle, ahem rx8 was making its approach to land on the big daddy meteorite ;)

it was fun driving home that day, i listen to rock, classical and dance music too.

i drove home from Belfast one night with the windows down and the trance pumpin and everyone stopping and pointing and smiling.

its cool sound system in this car!
