View Full Version : Will a front bumper fit in an rx-8 RX8YA 09-11-2008, 09:34 PM Pretty much sums it up in the title. TragicallyHip 09-11-2008, 09:49 PM I'm going to say no... As I was unable to fit mine in my car a few months ago... I just may not have tried enough different ways of fitting it in because I didn't want to damage the interior though... RX8YA 09-11-2008, 09:53 PM hmmmm i figure its only a bit wider then my exhaust. Easy_E1 09-11-2008, 09:55 PM Mazdamaniac had a rear bumper in his car the other day. I would say YES. NgoRX8 09-11-2008, 10:09 PM i fit my stock front bumper in there before. aftermarket fronts won't fit though, especially if they're fiberglass. i tried. RX8YA 09-11-2008, 10:17 PM Nice. magnat_man 09-11-2008, 11:45 PM I tested mine before and it don't fit. imput1234 09-12-2008, 12:01 AM yes remove the passenger seat nuke0907 09-12-2008, 02:16 AM i fit a CF Mazdaspeed rear diffuser in mine. not sure about a front bumper though. try sliding the seat all the way forward, then tilt it back. you can make more room that way. you could also just remove the seat as mentioned before. also make sure to put a blanket or something down so you don't scratch your interior. laythor 09-12-2008, 02:23 AM or rent a uhaul van for 19 bucks and so much per mile.. save yourself the headache RX8YA 09-12-2008, 08:17 AM Thanks guys getting alot of mixed answers Ill just use my dads truck didnt want to go that route if I didnt have to. XDEEDUBBX 09-12-2008, 08:21 AM trunk lids can fit nuke0907 09-12-2008, 08:24 AM so do side skirts http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n303/nuke0907/rx8%20progress/DSC_0518.jpg CTrx8 09-12-2008, 09:12 AM the front bumper fits fine. i drove from NJ to CT with mine next to me and it didn't even feel that cramped. no need to use a truck - just make sure you wrap it with blankets so you don't scratch anything. lilring 09-12-2008, 09:34 AM i just had to fit a MS bumper in mine. it does work. all you have to do is take out the back seats.. the Bottom and back of it.. it will only take you 10 mins to do it tops.. and then just lay down the passenger seat all the way. trust me it will work CTrx8 09-12-2008, 09:51 AM i don't know why people are taking out seats. like i said, i did it just fine. the passenger seat was reclined but other than that it fit like a glove. PBlue 09-12-2008, 11:05 AM ive fit assembled catback systems, a 32" widescreen tv (in a 45" box), 8 wheels... probably depends on the bumper... but move passenger seat all the way forward, recline all the way down, and you're probably okay. but if you already have a truck, why bother. Rotr8 09-12-2008, 11:16 AM Yeah Ive put my spare front bumper in my car several times just lay the pass side seat all the way down and wrap it around to the back drivers side, ive got it in the basement now but if you need pics jsut let me know and Ill carry it out there and put it in ... RX8YA 09-12-2008, 12:11 PM Its a stock bumper I also fit my catback in my 8 just fine I figured its not much wider. I would rather not bother my dad for his truck but he might get to enjoy the 8 for a couple hrs while I truck it. Thanks guys Kris 09-12-2008, 01:45 PM I fit a front lip in it before with plenty of space, I think i front bumper would be okay. bdeitemeyer 09-12-2008, 02:45 PM i just had to fit a MS bumper in mine. it does work. all you have to do is take out the back seats.. the Bottom and back of it.. it will only take you 10 mins to do it tops.. and then just lay down the passenger seat all the way. trust me it will work How much work is involved in removing the rear seats? Just curious... lilring 09-12-2008, 02:55 PM How much work is involved in removing the rear seats? Just curious... not a lot.. all you have to do is pull up on the bottom of the seats and they will come out... and for the back of the seats there is 2 bolts for each seat.. 10mm... then after you get the bolts out push up on the back of the seat a little bit and it will come right out.. it should only take you 10 mins... it worth the 10 mins so you dont mess up your seats with the bumper bdeitemeyer 09-12-2008, 04:53 PM Thanks, I'll be going with this method to transport my front bumper of my other car to be on the safe side. snipaz2420 09-12-2008, 05:29 PM i have put my oem bumper in the 8. just fold down the passenger seat and you should be good to go. http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t140/snipaz2420/IMG_0184.jpg nuke0907 09-12-2008, 08:46 PM i've also put 4 OEM wheels in mine. 2 of them even still had the tires on.
