ok i have the sport version of the rx8. couldnt afford the gt. and it doesnt let me play certain type of burnt discs. i have some rele old ones and they work, but when i buy the same ones brand new they do not work in the car.
has anyone else had this problem and has discovered what exact disc works in the car.

This may help, it helped me. When you burn your cds, burn them at the slowest speed possible. I had this problem in a cadilac as well. It seemed to help me. I think most computers defaults are set to burn the cd at the fastest rate possible. Crank that down and see if it works.

I also found that it depends on the speed they are written at. The less songs that you can put on the better off you'll be.

^yeah...what he said.

Try buying different media. Not all CD-R's are created equal. Burn speed can usually be selected right before you start burning the disc

I generally use memorex CD-R's and I've never had any issues with CD's not playing on my 6 disc changer. Of course, I've also got a bose unit so who knows.

I have pretty good luck with Memorex as well. Sony's allways good too.

here is another question about burning CDs for the 8... is it possible to burn the MP3 style CD so there is like 100 songs on it and play it in the 8?

You can easily burn it as MP3 style, however I dont think the stock radio in an 8 plays MP3's. At least mine doesnt I dont think. I have an 04. I bet the newer ones do though. I dont know for sure.
