View Full Version : I can't believe it!!!!!
stauburn 11-28-2003, 07:04 PM I took my car back to the GREAT VALLEY MAZDA dealership in Sacramento today to get my oil changed ( they sent me a coupon in the mail and I didn't have the time to do it myself) anyways when I got my car back 1 1/2 hrs later and I drove off the lot . Half way home I went to play my new CD (which I was listening to on the way the the dealership) and lo and behold it wasn't in the deck!!!!!!!! When I started checking the rest of the car I noticed the another CD that was in my CD case was gone!!! Needless to say I went back to the dealership and demanded to speak to the manager and the cashier tells me that he is at lunch and will not be back for and hour. Anyways after 15 min of demanding to speak to any manager there or I was going to call the police to report the theft one of the technicians came to help me out .
Of course, none of the people that worked on my car saw anything..( surprised , surprise..) but 3 of the 4 people that worked on my car where in their 40's so I doubt the woulds steal 2 Tupac CD's but the 4th dude who drove my car to me was a young guy so he was high on my suspect list but of course he wasn't there when I got back. Anyways the tech I was dealing with told my to buy the CD's and bring the receipt back and they would reimburse me and they did.
I still can't believe the idiot would be stupid enough to take a CD out of the deck and not expect someone to miss it and then take another CD out of the CD case( and he took only one disc of a double CD set , at least steal both of them....idiot!!!)
That's the end of my rant....thanks for listening
M-ster 11-28-2003, 08:07 PM This should be in Lounge, it's not the car's fault, it's human error.
Sometime one just got to live with thrash around them. Sorry for you.
mikeb 11-28-2003, 08:54 PM that sucks
I had a 4k paint job done on my last car
and A cd was stolen
its small but its all about respect
thats BS
Rotary Nut 11-28-2003, 08:56 PM Man I hear ya!
I accidentily left my Palm m505 in the console of my late VW Passat W8. I usually keep keep it in the car and use it as my moving map GPS system in conjunction with my Navman GPS unit.
When I got the car back it was too missing. The dealership and the rest of the dealers in the Casey Automotive chain use the same model Palms in thier business. They gave me one of thier own as a replacement! I had left the GPS unit at home fore some reason that day.
Racer X-8 11-29-2003, 09:32 AM I'm impressed with the remedial action taken by the dealership in both your & rotary nut's situation. Gotta give them cudos for putting the customer first.
Dealerships, like any company, gotta give their employees a level of dependability to some degree. Of course, sometimes that'll backfire on them. Some people don't place any value on their job.
Next time, don't leave your stuff in the car. I always grab the obvious outta there at some point in time, either at home before I leave or at the dealership as I'm dropping it off. Never tempt the devil.
Mazda man 11-29-2003, 06:04 PM That is really unlucky man. I have seen stereos that have a facility to stop this happening, what you do it hold a series of buttons to lock the controls to prevent the settings being changed or the CD being ejected.
Seems like a good idea.
Genom 11-30-2003, 05:03 AM Hell, I am Mexican and you know what? I dont leave nothing in the car when it goes anywhere that I am not in complete control of. Of course, this comes from growing up in a place where you better not leave a CD on the seat because it will get busted for some loser to steal. Yep. A 100 dollar repair (down there at least) cause some (^$&(& stole 1 CD (happened to me 2 times). Also the dealer does have a sign saying they aint responsible so I take it to heart. Dont trust nobody but your mom and your wife (and the wife is a judgement call).

A-men to that...most people figure..."Well if I break the window, it isn't my issue to fix it."
As for jacking a CD or something...all the service guys have to say is..."I moved it over so that it'd be out of the way, I forgot to put it back in, sorry." IE: In the stereo, it started blasting the instant they turned the ignition on...you know what I mean...you have the volume set to 12, you mute it, but the next person to turn it on gets the Tupac's "uck uck uck" at 12+ the instant they turned the car on after changing your oil.
ptiemann 11-30-2003, 03:48 PM My parking coins were "cleaned up" once, a bunch of quarters and a one-dollar coin. I didn't complain, figured I shouldn't have left it in there.
Yes, that was at the dealership where I just bought my second car from. I'm very happy with them otherwise.

I'd complain. May not be able to prove anything and may not know who did it, but the dealer will amass a pattern of complaints over time and the bad apple will be dealt with.
