did they allow you to take a videotape of it home? they did that for my daughter in Chicago but not my son in CT so we have her ultrasound on videotape. of course we have never owned a VCR so we gave it to our parents.

its gotta be a boy darnid! in the end I want 2 boys and a girl, but the daddy's girl to be born in the middle... I am hoping this turns out to be Landon Charles Caveney, but of course male gender isnt a must, a healthy baby is going to be enough to please me :)

we will get a video at the first REAL ultrasound with the doctor. this was an ultrasound in part of due to a concern that turned out to be nothing. I wanted to wait to pass on my welcome to fatherhood thread until we reached the end of the real dangerous part (first trimester). we are also doing the 4d down the road, so i will share that when it comes along. stay tuned to this thread for updates and I will be starting a $2 pool at work and with family for delivery date with 50/50 split going to us for baby needs and 50 going to mainpot. the right day is going to get 50% for correct day and 25% for those on each side of birthday. When i get that started I will post a calendar here with available dates and anyone interested feel free to PM me with an opportunity to partake :)

Talk and sing around your wife, the embryo can hear you and will respond after it is born - tests have shown that a baby will show increased interest when it hears the sounds of its mother's and father's voice, if exposed to them in the womb. You can even read out loud and some data will be retained! It will jump at sudden loud noises and show distress if parent argue. It can yawn, cry, and move around like a little spaceman on a teather. They appreciate music, and seem to be aware of sunlight coming through the wall of the womb...It is so lucky to come to some one who already wants to care for it...

ultrasound yesterday to find out the babies growth and make sure he/she only has 2 arms, 2 legs, 1 head and to findout the gender. its a...

unknown :banghead:
he/she was laying with legs crossed and could not get in at a good angle to try and see what sex. we go back in 2 weeks to attempt it again. some good profile pictures coming later today though.

pic 1 is my favorite. it is of his/her head and hand near the nose/mouth.
the 2nd pic is of the baby on his back with his abdomen being the part that starts to curve up with the head and side profile of face being to the left. baby was basically standing on his/her head. feet were actually behind his head in some of the pics. doing somersaults i guess? by measuring his head, femur and abdomen they can estimate the weight. a WHOPPIN 8.3oz :D

^ NEVER declaw my cats. this is a "break-in" period so they know something is coming. read it in one of the books, about preparing your pet for your new arrival. says to let them get comfortable with it, so they something is coming. the bedding will be bashed again and then the door to the nursery will be closed prior to the new one's arrival. letting the cats know it is off limits.

rofl. I've got way too many cats, and we're always chasing one off the changing table +/- out of the crib.

They all handled it very well. Better than we thought, actually. We have a couple of freaks that are crazy, possessive, or both. Not one incident. By now they're all so attention starved that they come up on the couch an tolerate tail grabbing if that's what it takes to get some love. (we do discourage the tail grabbing, but he just wants to grab everything)

One of them even chases the other cats off the bed and picks fights if they try to come between him & my fiancee. He snuggles with Seamus. Go figure.

Yeah, but our attempts to keep him out of our bed prevent me from doing so. It's cute, but I'm not jumping out of bed first thing in the morn to get it. :lol:

But we did the same thing. Set everything up and let the cats get used to the new stuff. There's no keeping them off/out of everything, but they stay out of the crib for the most part and get off the changing table when told to do so.

We have a crib tent, too. Though it's coming off today b/c the little guy is now big enough (and determined enough) to inspect & play with it. Yikes!

It worked great, though. Once the tent went on the cats realized they couldn't get into the crib. Even with the tent open the cats rarely tried to jump in, but we'll see how it goes now.

its not a manhood thing at all, its just they are treacherous and deviate and they arent really an animal I can trust. Plus they destroy shit. I had to kill like 3 cats in my neighborhood cause the asses let their cats roam around and they were destroying my landscaping by peeing on the plans (wich by the way kills the plants) and scraping the ground to poop in it and just making a mess.

sorry if this offends anyone but it had to be done

i know and hear of more puppies/dogs destroying crap than of cats/kittens. worst stories from cats is because they sh*t in a sandbox. your post is somewhat accurate as far as being devious and such. they are simply independent animals who dont NEED love or attention like that of a dog. I favor cats but like both dogs and cats. with work and such, would just feel bad leaving a dog alone for soooo many hours a day.

cats = ninjas
dogs = pirates
and we all know ninjas > pirates.

I like dogs - especially puppies - and according to Indian traditions, when a baby boy is born you should have a puppy feast!

I just had a call from a telephone sales person begging for money to help control the dog population on a Navajoe reservation. Since I was taking a bath I really really wanted that call!

He said his group was based in Oklahoma which rather bothered me because Navajoes are more from Arizonia and New Mexico...

So I told him his problem was not lack of money but going off the path of the Changing Woman - have a big puppy party - don't invite any white folks because they would make faces - and let the old ways take care of the problem in the old way!

I was going to offer a couple of traditional cooking methods but he hung up...and I went back and finished my bubble bath....

Chicken and dumplings makes a good substitute for a puppy stew, and you can share it with your puppy....

And there is definately a curse on anyone who gets a granny out of a bathtub to try to sell them a fake warrenty for their car!
