Jedi54 08-24-2008, 08:34 PM the foglight rewire is pretty easy to do and you'll love it.
Have you thought about changing out the bulbs on the fog lights? they're sort of 'yellowish' compared to HID's.
Here's the Hoen bulbs I used.

12oclock 08-24-2008, 09:51 PM As far as rewiring goes i don't know u people find the time for shit like that. Anyway, LUMINICS FTW: http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y297/bwjones/8Garage.jpg

better you than me. I've been using em since my last car and they last longer than any other bulbs I've ever used.
Razz1 08-25-2008, 09:22 AM This is a nice DIY option to do on your car.
Jedi54 08-25-2008, 11:20 AM 12oclock: this rewire takes 20 minutes.
dozer 08-25-2008, 11:54 AM ^probably less...
Jedi54 08-25-2008, 12:10 PM ^^ that includes time to throw back a few cold beers.
Socket7 08-25-2008, 02:44 PM Foglight mod was my very first mod. I've got them totally independent of the headlights now, and they stay on at all times. I consider them daytime running lights.
NgoRX8 08-25-2008, 03:02 PM I have never ever used my foglights. my foglights came off the 2nd day as that's when my kit went on. would like to use it one day if i ever found any appealing to me.
haha jedi the lights look clean.
Jedi54 08-25-2008, 03:04 PM ^^ get Rodger to make you some HID lights for your bumper.
speaking of which: recognize the driveway?? ;)
NgoRX8 08-25-2008, 03:53 PM lol. of course, i even recognize the jeep. haha
Razz1 08-25-2008, 09:33 PM I think rodger will be too busy with his new car.

I used super white LEDs plus put super white LED fog light bulbs
parking light LEDs: www.v-leds.com
fog light leds: www.ijdmtoy.com
they match pretty good...I did the same with my clear corner markers and then put 6000K HIDs so now all lights match :)
Razz1 08-26-2008, 08:19 PM Did an out right good job.

2tone; I did change out the bulbs from home, it's actually pretty simple. I got the bulbs from http://www.hoen-usa.com/ and theyr'e holding up very well.
To replace the bulbs, you can actually do it through the inside of the wheel well. Just take off the plastic shielding (held on by a few plastic clips), reach in and unhook the bulbs.
There is a D.I.Y. on it around here somewhere, I'm sure the search function can find it.

sweet, i'll search for it - i saw the "do not replace yourself, only at the dealer" in the manual and was wondering why they would even say that. i think i'll replace it w/ an oem bulb for now b/c i'm broke, but those hoen's look awesome. thanks for the tip.
EDIT: in case anyone else needs it...DIY fog bulb replacement (http://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?t=36067&highlight=fog+bulb)
EdwardsB 08-28-2008, 03:22 PM ^for the HID's im guessing they say for the dealer to change them so someone doesn't get shocked with 25,000 volts, guess they do not want lawsuits.
I have not had to change mine so I cant give you any input on difficulty.
EDIT: just found this online
Quote: "A blast from a crushed 100 bar hot HID bulb will send glass pieces into your skin and eyes and potentially fill wounds with mercury, which is very poisiness. Room will be filled with toxic fumes. Very high startup voltages can give you electric shock if closer than 1.5 inches or 4 cm. A headlight assembly will protect you from all this included UV rays. "

yikes, that sounds terrible! from what i remember, which was a little while, it only says for the dealer to change the fogs, not the headlights (maybe it says not to change the heads if you have hid's, i don't remember). the oem fogs are not hid, so i guess it can't be as dangerous for the fogs??
