sorry for all these threads im throwing up with all these questions but i have below specs compression and would really like to know if Rotary motors need a certain amount of PSI compression to start it up.

I am below specs as i said but everytime i try to start the car it doesn't want to start and fire up.

strait to the point...is this normal for the car NOt to start bc of compression below specs? and should it at least fire up for just a few moments? Everytime i try to start it it makes a noise like *low tone puttering sound*, i will try to get some vidz tomorow of what it sounds like~ but for now, your knowledge is important. :)

if its low between two rotor faces because of a blown apex seal etc. it will usually start up and run poorly, but if it's low all around like you indicated previously it will do exactly what you describe ie only 15-20 psig on all rotors it definitely won't start unless you can get the rotors to turn over much faster than what a starter will typically do, such as tow-starting it in gear

the rotary needs oil to seal properly, you can try turning the engine over slowly by hand and squirting motor oil in the sparkplug holes to make sure all three chambers on both rotors get oiled well, then try and see if it will build enough compression to fire up. You should probably not have the cat converter installed because when/if it fires all that oil and smoke may damage it, just let it run/idle until the smoke clears then check the compression again

my dealer said they did the recalls and reflashes and now it's in the shop for a enginge problem that started after the recall!who knew!!can't wait to get her back on the road.

good looking out team 8, and i tried out what youve said about the oil in the plugs but no start, and i called up the people who sold me the motor and what they said is that there was some electrical issues on the rx8 of where the motor came from, and they had several of the same problems and no start up. so i will be getting my old motor rebuilt veryyy sooon~
