You know recently I've been just relaxing with the comments on if Mazda handling will be top of the line. Well ofcourse we all know if will be. I've also been kjeeping my mouth shut on these 1/4 fast and furious racers. Hey believe me I want to be able to do a quick 1/4 mile too.

But what I really want to know is this. With all the discussion on the Rx8 and all the new discussion coming from high places about the new Rx7 my question is this. I know the Rx7 is still dependant on the success of the Rx8. But what will be the top of the line flagship model.

I mean what i'm looking at is this. Nearly all new Mazda cars are going to have some sort of MPS model.

I mean protege....got a turbo
The new 6, all wheel drive turbo (rumor 270 horse!??!)
The Rx8 has a rumor of a 300 tri-rotor MPS
And now the Rx7 is to be remade? (If Rx8 is a sucess?)
What about the rumored Rotary Miata.?!?
What is there is a Rx7 MPS, Tri-Rotor turbo??!?!?


My question is this. " Is any one certain what the top of the line model will be?"

I mean whats the use of spending all the m oney on some car to only trade it in a couple months down the road and have something better come out. I realize that Rx7 and a MPS Rx8 are dependent on the RX8 success. But why have a Rx7 and a MPS Rx8?

4 door, or 2 seater. I mean what is the Miata going to turn into a cheaper version on the Rx7?

Oh yeah whats with the rumor of the rotary miata, the new MPS Mazda. I think Mazda is going to produce way to many options for people to choose from. But any conformation or any opions be appricated. I would personally love a new Rx7, but why get that if I can have a 300hp MPS Rx8?



Okay Guess I'm done rambling.

The RX-8 (MPS) has more space, but I think the RX-7 will be more of a sportscar (yes, even more) then the RX-8. And I also think the price will be higher. A RX-8 250hp will be here about 40.000/45.000 euro's so a MPS will be more

MazdaSpeed Protege (in the future Mazda3 MPS) is more in the line of the Golf R32, Focus RS and such. So around 40.000 euro's. I compare it with Europe/Holland if you don't mind. Because the Golf R32 and Focus RS are near the 40.000 euro's.

Miata with rotary engine will probably be around 30.000 euro's I think.

Mazda6 MPS (280hp).....competitors are the Vectra 3.2 GTS, Alfa 156 GTA, Mondeo ST220, but they are all slower. They all cost around 45.000/50.000 euro's. The Mazda6 could be higher because of the 4WD. But I don't hope so

Then the RX-7 (MPS). Top of the range if you'd asked me!

1. RX-7 MPS
2. RX-8 MPS
3. Mazda6 MPS
4. Mazda3 MPS
5. Miata

I think that the RX-7 MPS will be the top of the line model. It will most likely be the top performer then followed be the RX-8 MPS and so on.
