Series-II arm rests

Have noted the Series-II RX-8 gets comfy looking arm rests on the door trims. These outwardly appear to be a simple add-on from the original Series-I design by Mazda.

Does anyone know (yet) if these comfy little padded arm rests are an add-on that can be purchased & stuck onto a Series-I (03-07) door trims.......??

No they don't fit.

But I have been working on a leather one for the 03-08 cars that should be pretty simple to mount. I'll try and post pictures next week.

Thats a damn shame they dont fit.

I looked at this Series-II version pretty closely & it certainly gave the outward view that it was a simple add-on.

Its hard to see in this Mazda press pic but you get the idea of what I am talking about. Apologies for the oversized pic. Its straight from the Mazda server.

Yeah, if you changed the whole lower door (arm rest section) to the newer style or the whole door panel, you could get it too fit.

I'm the only person who can't rest his left arm anywhere comfortable on the 'arm rest'?

Oh well, left hand is usually on the steering wheel during hard cornering :D

zeta has an armrest pad for it though. not leather, but similar to console pad material.

I put mine there all the time on the freeway at speed. I'm tired of it. That zeta thing looks like crap. There's got to be a better alternative. There's a leather guy that makes pieces for my other car - they fit great, look great, and work great. East to install as well. Would folks be interested in something like that? I'd be happy to share the pattern if I decide to get them done.
