I really dig these wheels on the 8, best looking I've seen so far! Kagero 11-26-2003, 08:32 PM question, on pic NO 4, does the rx8 really that shiny!??! or do they put somekind of special wax on it, cause ive seen some rx8 in dealerships, and they are not that shiny, or maybe when u pick up your car, they make it extremly shiny. MazdaManiac 11-26-2003, 08:51 PM Uh, yes - it was really that shiny. As were ALL of the cars in the MazdaSpeed booth. There were three or four guys (girls too) there who's only job was to keep hitting the cars in the MazdaSpeed booth with a dust mop and some Meguiar's Quick Detailer. I watched them. They hit that particular Troy Lee RX-8 every 15 minutes like clockwork, especially on the "High traffic" spots like around the doors, spoiler and hood. I need a crew like that! Then again, my RX-8 is that shiny, but that is because it is Black and I keep it in the garage when I'm not out thrashing it. djmano 11-26-2003, 08:57 PM where can i pick up that mazdaspeed license plate frame? not that i don't like my anaheim mazda/hyundai dealer plate frame LOL. red_rx8_red_int 11-26-2003, 09:21 PM Originally posted by Maniac Uh, yes - it was really that shiny. OK, they use Meguiar's detailer spray, any ideas about the polish/wax? MazdaManiac 11-26-2003, 10:40 PM Originally posted by red_rx8_red_int I was wondering the same thing about how shiny they are. OK, they use Meguiar's detailer spray, any ideas about the polish/wax? Well, I don't know that it is Meguiar's SPECIFICALLY. They used generic, unmarked bottles. But the stuff was the same milky greenish that the Meguiar's is and served the same function. Could have been the same product from Eagle or Black Magic. They are chemically almost identical. Doesn't really matter what product it is - all finishing products will yield more or less the same results in the hands of someone that knows what they are doing. Having maintained a few show cars in my day, I can tell you that the main difference between the various products is directed application methodology, not composition. Over the years, I've used 3M, Meguiar's, Zaino, P21S, Rolite and even a few of the low-end products (Black Magic, Coral, Turtle, etc...) and I can more-or-less get the same results from any of them if I apply them correctly and in the correct order. There is a lot of Voodoo out there and it is mostly in place to keep the competition up. Just wash, clean, polish, glaze then wax - in that order - and you can use Endust as your top product if you prefer the smell (well, probably not). These cars at SEMA were brand new and had seen no road use, so spit and a sweatsock would have been suffcient. Efini 8 11-27-2003, 02:08 AM yup at car shows, a lot of owners stand by their pride and joy and clean it after assholes touch it, meguairs quick detail removes oil and stuff and reveals the wax beneath. I suggest Meguairs since I am sponsored by them, but they are very good I used them before my sponsorship and they make great stuff. Geek 11-27-2003, 08:40 AM Don't forget about Zaino!!!!!
