And yes I reused the donut from the stock exhaust on my Borla exhaust. I'm pretty sure it's the same for any exhaust unless a new is provided? That or you're gonna have one hell of an exhaust leak. AKAFC 08-19-2008, 08:16 PM A steel gasket might be a good idea to purchase from your local parts store to prevent anyexhaust leaks. A pipe that size surely has low back presure so I guess if you wanted to chance just matting the two pipes together no harm would come out of it except maybe some unwante blow by noise if they didn't seal properly. >>> whatever you may decided to do i absolutly don't recomend the use of muffler tape. hahaha. __________________________________________________ _____________ I have a question for you to pm back. What month would you say is the best to buy a vehicul in? If you can't chose a month then tell me where I can find some turbo'd GT's for sale! lol:lol: Hope I was of a tiny bit of help. AKAFC 08-19-2008, 08:23 PM If I were to examine the picture in every detail I could tell you the length of your bolt would Inevitably require the use of an exaust gasket due to the fact that the tread on the nut could not crush down enough on the mid pipe to properly mate it to your down pipe. ( You can tell where the previous black carbon build up builds into an acumulated white heat score where the previous gasket used to sit. . . . Good to see you have a heat shield above your exaust eh? kersh4w 08-19-2008, 08:30 PM that is definitely a gasket, also, if you want to remove those side bolts, use a deep socket 13 or 14mm and put the socket over the thread onto the built in bolt part. |
