Did some searches and I'm hoping it's the plugs so I'm changing those alter today. Just wanted to get some personal opinions though. Only 2 differences in the last week I can think of that might have something to do with this 1) I quit premixing for a couple of days after my engine light came on, started premixing once it went off again and 2) did some serious revving and donuts on Friday.

But basically it just hesitates real bad when accelerating, it's pathetic. I might as well be driving my civic. Thanks for any insight......

not only the plugs but maybe the coils as well. Do you have a cat by chance? would that be plugged at all?

Mine is running great. sorry can't help you. Take it to the dealer. Save yourself the aggrevation and worry of being your own mechanic. They have diognostic equipment you don't.

For what I've read, and please read so yourself but coils are a simple install. I can't speak from experience but what I've read pretty easy. Although I'm going to find out real quick since its on my to-do list. Definatly if that CEL comes back on again get it pulled, then bring the code back here and people will run over their own mother to tell you what it means.

It's only easy if you are mechanically inclined and have the proper tools.

actually I've never done anything like that on a car before. I just took twice as long as it said it would. I had simple tools. Wrenches, sockets. Its honestly not that hard. It seemed over whelmin when I first got started.

I can give you my personal experience that happened yesterday. I was driving to work when my 8 started to hesitate very bad. (2004 MT 55K) Every shift I threw resulted in the car hesitating and buckling like if I had never driven a stick before. I was lucky in which the Mazda Dealer is about 2.5 miles from my work. Of course it was the worse 2.5 miles driving as the car almost stalled 4 times.

I had to drive in 3 gear and stay around 40 mph. Anything higher would result in the CEL flashing and a far worse hesitation then before. Made it to the dealer and was told a couple of hours later that they needed to change the coils, spark plugs and ignition wires. I needed the car so I authorized the work to be done which came out to $ 696.04. I am sure that was way to much but I was expecting to be told the engine was going to need to be replaced. When I did get the car back at the end of the day it rode like brand new. I realized now that the car was having slight symptons before this but I did not catch on until it was to late. At least I made it to the dealer.

it is very simple, the sparkplugs however, you will need a jackstand and remove your wheel

:naughty: .......Back in business.....One of my GD wires was just hanging, how u like them apples? I changed my plugs too cause they we're corroded. Time to go find that little prick in the cobalt mean-mugging me earlier.
