The RX-8 has always been a head turner for me. Soooooo last Friday I made a used car purchase. An 05 RX-8 Shinka w/ 38k. Very much liking the new ride. QUESTION: I'm having a bit of a rough idle while sitting still. I've only used premium fuel so far and plan to for its lifespan. I just finished reading the spark plug thread and plan on giving them a good sandblastig. Is there anything else I need to be tuned into with ths car. Thanks much

 

While with rough idle the top 3 things to check are ignition coils, spark plugs, and motor mounts. If the car has the orginial coils i would get new ones. The oem spark plugs last about 30k. The idle is alittle rough to begin with even with everything working. Bad Motor Mounts will also cause rough idle
